The ups: The Timber Twister Alpine Coaster deserves five stars. It's a long enough ride for the price of a ticket, and every time you ride can be different, because riders control the speed. Choose from a slow ride down and take in the great scenery, or stay off the brake and experience the g-forces.
Up and down: The Timber Flyer Zip Line gives an exhilarating ride and an energetic finish, as well as a gentle ride back to the top to give riders time to regain their breath, but the whole ride only takes about 90 seconds. We're glad we tried it once, but when you think about it, at $13 per ride for double riders, an hour of actual ride time would cost $520. We're glad we tried it once, but for repeat rides, the Timber Twister seems like a much better value.
The downs: We like miniature golf, and we had heard that the mini-golf course had gotten some remodeling. For the price for nine holes, a glance at it didn't attract us to even take a closer look. At about half the price, we might have tried it.
There are other attractions at the park including a chairlift ride which wasn't operating the day that we were there. Mountain bike trails for those with a range of skill levels are also available, but riders need to their own bikes or rent them in Duluth since bike rentals aren't available at Spirit Mountain.
