“Spirit Mountain's Adventure Park has it's ups and downs”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

The ups: The Timber Twister Alpine Coaster deserves five stars. It's a long enough ride for the price of a ticket, and every time you ride can be different, because riders control the speed. Choose from a slow ride down and take in the great scenery, or stay off the brake and experience the g-forces.

Up and down: The Timber Flyer Zip Line gives an exhilarating ride and an energetic finish, as well as a gentle ride back to the top to give riders time to regain their breath, but the whole ride only takes about 90 seconds. We're glad we tried it once, but when you think about it, at $13 per ride for double riders, an hour of actual ride time would cost $520. We're glad we tried it once, but for repeat rides, the Timber Twister seems like a much better value.

The downs: We like miniature golf, and we had heard that the mini-golf course had gotten some remodeling. For the price for nine holes, a glance at it didn't attract us to even take a closer look. At about half the price, we might have tried it.

There are other attractions at the park including a chairlift ride which wasn't operating the day that we were there. Mountain bike trails for those with a range of skill levels are also available, but riders need to their own bikes or rent them in Duluth since bike rentals aren't available at Spirit Mountain.

“best coaster ride!!!! must try”
Reviewed 29 May 2014

We stopped by with a recomendation from the visitors area stop across the raod from Spirit mountian, had never heard of it... and they have several things in the spring/summer to do. We bought a ticket for the timber twister, roller coaster ride... price was good for a single and a dbl rider and had a coupon from visitors center buy one get one half. This ride can be as fast or slow as you want since you sit like you are in a go cart and can make it go fast or slow.... the kids loved it and all the adults were screaming too!!! Must try!!!

We took our kids there and they loved it. We were there in the summer so they did the alpine slide plus the zipline multiple times. It was hard to get them to leave!

“Fun Day in March”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

Our family of four -- two adults who skied, and two teenagers who snowboarded -- had a great day at Spirit Mountain, and we hope to return next year. The slopes were much longer than we expected, the views spectacular, and the two terrain parks were fun for the teens. There aren't many signs compared to most ski hills. The chalet at "the top" is actually half way up the mountain, so when you come out from the rental area it's a bit confusing to figure out where to go as people ski and board past. So be sure to look at a map of the entire ski complex before you buy tickets and go down the stairs to the rental area. Also, the signs in the chalet aren't completely clear, so be sure you know that you should stand in line for a lift ticket before going downstairs to the rental area. The tavern at the top of the chalet has food that is pretty good and cheap, and the best part is that it has free pitchers of ice water so that you can rehydrate when you stop for food. The lifts are quick and smooth, and the lines were short when we visited on March 28.
