We had a nice stay at this new Inn which is conveniently located across the lift bridge in Canal Park. We could walk across the bridge to visit the lighthouses or shops and restaurants in the park area.

The rooms were tasteful and had small balconies to enjoy the view of Lake Superior. The complimentary breakfast was simple but nothing special. We opted to go to a nearby restaurant for breakfast.

Excellent on every level. Fast check-in. They call you in about 10 minutes to see how you like your room and to see if you need anything. Room comes with a the necessities; Safe, iron, ironing board, plastic bag for wet items, extra comforter. Bathroom comes with everything you need like shampoo, conditioner, lotion, mouthwash, lots of towels. Coffee station, refrigerator. I'm sure I'm forgetting something. Comfy beds, easy to operate TV. Quiet, no noise. Adult swim in the heated indoor pool from 9-10pm. Wonderful breakfast. We had a view of the lake. Oh, and Free WiFi. Very nice!

Room Tip: Get a room with a view of the lake.

My family stayed at Park Pointe Marina Inn during our Four day trip to Duluth. I am a St.Scholastica Alum and love the city.

We usually stay at Beacon Pointe but decided to give Park Pointe a try. The Inn is new, the harbor view was nice. We enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the morning with a fresh cup of coffee.

The staff were friendly and helpful. With one exception, a staff/ manager that felt the need to interrogate us. By asking where we were from, why we were in the city, when we arrived, and when we planned to leave.

It wasn't the questions that made us uncomfortable so much as his tone and mannerism. The interaction left us feeling a bit unwelcome and wondering if it was because we are an African American family.

Needless to say Beacon Pointe will continue to be our hotel of choice when visiting Duluth.

Stayed here for the marathon, I guess all the hotels are super overpriced for this event. But it was 4 blocks from the finish line (Canal Park) and only 12 blocks from the busses to the start line (20 min walk) and was brand new so location was great. Very nice view of the marina from our room though it was very foggy most of the time we were there so we couldn't appreciate it. Loved the decor of the room, colors were very inviting. Very much appreciated having a full hot breakfast available starting at 3am for the marathoners. Best I've seen before a race. Had one issue but management took care of it. Fitness center was nice but not ventilated well so if you're on the treadmill it was like being in a sauna. But I did love that they had a sauna! Shuttle service was great, but only ran during the evening which was weird. Otherwise, everything we needed was walking distance.

Room Tip: Definitely face the marina, worth it.

Booked this hotel based on it being brand new and proximity to the water. I was disappointed on many fronts from price of accommodations to the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night. Over priced and not in a very favorable location. The hotel was nothing to impress but commanded five star rates. Breakfast was so so and the door was shut promptly at 10:00 am, which is too early for a packed hotel. Too crowded in breakfast area primarily from 9:30 on because everyone knew it was go time or no food. Then there was the fire alarm going off. There was no smoke and no flashing lights or sirens. If none of these are present then the fire alarm shouldn't be going off arousing the whole place. Everyone has no choice but to check out what's going on. Explanation from staff was that the wind set it off. Right. I would not stay here next year based on my experience this year. Staff was all new and not trained very well for hospitality industry.

We strive to go above and beyond for our guests in every way that we can, and we are very sorry to see that we did not reach this goal for you. We value any comments that can help us better improve our new property and the way that it functions. We also take these comments as a learning opportunity for our staff to see what we can do as a whole to make our customer service go above and beyond. We would also like to apologize for the inconvenience of the fire alarm. The last thing we want to do is disturb our guest’s stay in anyway. You also deserve a proper explanation for why the alarm went off and we are very sorry that our staff did not deliver that. Our smoke detectors had a manufacturer’s defect. The company did replace the faulty detectors so this will not be an issue again. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and we hope to get the opportunity to make a future stay all you were hoping this one would be.

We had a great stay at this hotel but had two situations where we and other guests were approached by a manager and treated like children. I expressed my concern when we checked out and asked for the owner (not the manager) to contact me. A week later, I got a call from the manager (not the owner). Let's hope they figure out where they have problems before they start losing guests. Happy to see that other guests are giving good reviews.

Check-in was a breeze with the friendliest staff members. We got a room with a view of the lift bridge and I took plenty of pictures from the balcony. So close to everything, we walked to dinner with lots of restaurant choices.. Nice pool, sauna, and jacuzzi. Cleaning crew could be a little quieter with doors. Excellent breakfast, something for everyone. Great stay and would love to return. Slept like a baby. : )

Room Tip: Beds are a tad high so might be a problem for some. Our room faced the lift bridge, Duluth and ligh...
