My family of four stayed in the Superior View villa. The location was perfect. We could ski in and out which allowed our family to rest and take meals in the villa throughout the day. The staff were sincere, pleasant and helpful. It felt very much like staying in a friend's well loved cottage. The ski hill was good for those in our group who where beginners and intermediate. Even our better skiers who had skied in Banff enjoyed it but said it really didn't compare.

Room Tip: All the villas are the same layout but each is decorated differently. If skiing request a villa on...

We have stayed at the Mountain Villas for our honeymoon in 2006, as a family getaway with another couple and children another year, and then again for our sixth anniversary. We have stayed in a different villa each time and liked all of them. They are all different, so be sure to check out the photos of the different villas on the Mountain Villas website to help you decide which one to choose (click on Tour the Villas). Once we had a hot tub in the master bath, which was fun for that trip, but on other trips (with more people) it is convenient to have two regular showers. The view is different from each villa, and since they are privately owned each has its own decor.

We appreciate having a kitchen so we can cook, which is a big reason we prefer the Villas over a hotel. It is also nice having a living room and space to hang out, watch TV, play games, read, or just enjoy the view. The weather was bad one morning on our most recent trip so we stayed in, sitting in the living room with the fireplace, watching the snow fall. Cozy!

We have always found the Villas to be clean and comfortable. They have a pillow assortment in a bedroom closet so you can pick your pillow thickness. The kitchens are stocked with pots, utensils, plates and cups, etc. The drive to downtown Duluth is only a few minutes from the Villas.

We really enjoyed staying here for a quick trip to Duluth. The villa we rented was pet friendly, which I really appreciated snce we brought the dog with. It was nice to have a spacious place to stay with everything we could need. The rates were less expensive then all the decent hotels in the area that I looked in to. It was a much better value! I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone who is looking for a nice alternative to a hotel!

Room Tip: Book early, weekends fill up fast!

We are staying with a large wedding group, and we have most of the Villa's. I have been in many of them, and they all seem nice. Great rooms, living rooms, wireless, beds... view.. etc... all good.

What can I say. My husband suggested a hotel for our belated anniversary celebration. I don't prefer hotels. They're cramped, can be noisy, just doesn't feel romantic. The villas was the answer. We had two bathrooms, full kitchen so we could have a quiet meal together alone, spacious living area, very clean, nice furnishings, wrap around deck, a lovely view of lake superior. It was high up in the trees for a true woodsy feeling. My husband was very impressed. We'll be back again with the kids so we can use the other bedroom and then try out that Alpine slide. The front desk help were very kind and pleasant. I would highly recommend. MJ from New Brighton, MN

My fiancé and I stayed at a beautiful villa for our anniversary get away janurary of 2010. We loved that we could walk out our front door and ski out right onto the hill, during the middle of the day we were able to go back and make lunch in the villa with out wasting much hill time. The jacuzzi was a very soothing after a long day on the hill and quite a romantic touch. I loved the woodsy atmosphere surroundings, and the huge master suite bed was amazing to sleep in. The next day was a bit cold for skiing so we walked to the office and rented a movie how convenient!! The staff was very kind and helpful with all our questions about the area. We will definitely be back next summer!

Our family has stayed here numerous times, we have used it as a family retreat and a couples get away. We have used the villas to entertain our local family and it has been accomodating for both large group and small group parties. Our family has always enjoyed the Villas, the northwoods decor is supplemental to the fantastic views of Lake Superior and the Harbor! The staff has always been more than pleasant and accomodating. We love coming to Duluth, and this is always our first choice for lodging!
