We would definitely stay here again. Love the spacious rooms. Very clean. Beds very comfy. Pool was a little on the small side, but okay for a quick dip. The location was perfect--near to everything on canal park. The lakeside patio out back was great for eating breakfast. While having my morning coffee and waffle, got to watch a freighter go under the bridge.

I agree with all the other positive comments. Great location, clean rooms (although not spacious), above average breakfasts. What I'd add is that the breakfast menu changes a little bit every day, which was nice. The traffic on Canal Park can be annoying because the motel is SO close to the bridge, but that is the price you pay for convenience.

Early one morning, I bolted from bed at the sound of a ship's horn, and it seemed like our entire horizon was full of an inbound ore boat--very cool.

It was so hot out that we were unable to chill on the porch on the Lake Avenue side of the hotel.

Stayed here July 19th decided to try try to escape the heat. You can't ask for a better location right in Canal Park. We got the last king Suite available. Room was clean and spacious. complimentary Breakfast in the morning was above avarage, Scrambled eggs, hard boiled, cereal, outmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit, and excellent waffles. We got our wish as the lake breeze was up and it cooled the temp down so that it was comfortable. You pay alot for the room but if you compare it with the other hotels in canal park you wont be disappointed. The one drawback was the walls are a little thin and Rude People in the hallway that talk loud can be easily heard in the room. Pool is small but clean.

Great hotel, beautiful location, would definately stay here again. Of course it is a little more for the view, but it was nice to look out the window in the morning. With a nice patio off the back that overlooks the lake, I don't know if we would pay extra for a view - we were outside enjoying it already. Our room was a handicap room, with a large bathroom that would work great for any family with special needs. It was great to walk out the back, step on the boardwalk, and stroll to harbor area where the bridge is. We were able to watch the bridge rise several times to allow taller ships in and out. So peaceful, and relaxing. Nice breakfast in the morning, standard waffles, eggs, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, cereal, fruit, juice. Loved eating outside to the sounds of the gulls.

I stayed here during the Grandma's Marathon weekend, as a marathon participant, and it was in the perfect location. Everything was within 2 blocks walk, the expo, the shuttle buses to the start of the race, restaurants, shopping, beach (beach was a little farther walk across the bridge). And the best part was the finishline was within feet of the hotel front door. One recommendation is to get a room lakeside, not cityside on marathon weekend. The festival bands and crowds cheering kept me awake ALL night, the sound clearly coming through the wall of the building. Very clean hotel, I loved that they had a cocktail table in the lobby for that late night glass of wine, at a very reasonable price. The complimentary breakfast was very good. Beautiful views of the lake and the ships coming in. The staff had to be the friendliest hotel staff I've ever met. I will definitely stay here again, the high room cost was worth being able to walk everywhere and not have to sit in traffic and try to find parking in a very conjested canal park.

Room Tip: A lakeside room would be much quieter than a cityside room during Grandma's Marathon weekend.
