Someone stated the pub is dog friendly it is. They allow dogs to sit and lay all over the furniture. Not great when you take a little pride in cleanliness.

I would just like to start by saying the review left by an apparently Kevin, is so false and is slander on a lovely mum and daughter who have given blood, sweat and tears into getting the premises bk up and running!! Never heard such...disgusting accusations! This pub is a lovely family and dog friendly placeMore
This pub is run by a drug taking herein and crack cocaine addict be very careful. Found needles with blood in a syringe around with in furniture of the pub. Be very careful taking kids inside dangerous condition with drug activity going on with inside...the pub. Avoid especially taking your family and kids inside the venue drugs aboard.More
The wife and I just had scampi and chips meal, cooked to perfect, nothing was too much trouble for the staff, will definitely come back.
Went tonight with my husband, daughter and granddaughter. Very disappointed with the food, two of us had curry and it looked disgusting, not enjoyable at all , my husband had a chicken dinner and the Yorkshire pudding would have made a better frisbee, you needed...a hacksaw to cut it. The only decent meal was the scampi and chips. Will definitely not be going again.More
Great time had by all, great Kareoke. Staff amazing. Great atmosphere and a lovely time here and would recommend highly
Great quality Sunday roast. Super friendly service. Great pricing. Traditional Lincolnshire pub serving great Batemans beer. What’s not to like!
Great ales, good company, we were made welcome by the locals and not stared at like you get in some village pubs. We've now got many more people we can talk to since retiring here. Entertainment most weekends with bingo, quizzes, karaoke, and live singers....Nice garden away from the road, and very dog-friendly.More
Stumbled upon this pub whilst looking somewhere to park overnight. The excellent camping space at the back of the pub (with good clean wash facilities) were great. The owner and the locals were very freindly and gave us lots of advice on camping spots nearby....The friendly atmosphere really makes this pub one to visit. Also dog friendly so for us this one ticked all the boxes.More
What an amazing traditional pub Recently taken over and I have to say Yvonne and Georgina are doing a fantastic job. John and I regularly meet friends in there. Loving the open fire! Keep up the good work and all the very best for the...future. Jane and JohnMore
New to Chapel St Leonards on a dark Friday night. Missed turning & saw The Ship. Thought we would try (rude not too) seeing as we are seasonal goers next year at Goodwins and were on our way there. What a FANTASTIC landlord & landlady...and the locals made us feel so welcome although didn't know how far it was to Goodwins but that's another story. That said, made us feel so welcome. The Real Ale was excellent and as the wife said, real fruit with her Gin plus a Great selection of Gins made the whole experience BRILLIANT. 100% will visit next season and can't wait to taste the food and play bingo on a Friday. Another bonus is that we can bring pops our beagle because dogs were as welcome as their owners. So glad we missed turning. See you soon. Andy & Jo, and pops🐕A REAL pub.More
Paid 2 visits to here just for drinks. Friendly staff good vibes excellent selection of drinks. Highly recommended. Will definitely be back when we are back this way. Thank you
Very friendly owners, good quality food and value for money . Our dog was allowed into the bar area , also plenty of seats/tables outside
We went to the ship Inn to watch the football and were made very welcome by everyone. Really lovely pub, great staff and excellent prices. If you are looking for a great, traditional pub which is also dog friendly then this place is perfect.
Not a bad thing to say. Lovely staff. Good selection of ales(Batemans brewery, nothing more needed to say), made to feel totally welcome, unlike certain bars. Look forward to my next visit. Want to try the grub, heard it is very good.
