We have stayed at Cawood Guest House on 2 occasions and have had a very pleasant, comfortable stay both times.
The rooms are clean, well serviced and comfortable, with some great attention to detail. Having coffee making facilities and snacks in the rooms plus free wifi access is a definite bonus, as is the quiet location for a great night's sleep.
The breakfast is excellent. There's fruit and cereals and Barbara (the owner) cooks a mean full english, or if you fancy something a little more continental, croissants or pain au chocolates are warm and fresh.
Cawood itself is a lovely village with 3 decent pubs all serving good food and great beer (we'd recommend the Jolly Sailor though - very reasonable) and there are some fantastic places t eat in Selby, the with great commuter links to Leeds and York - probably takes about 30 mins to York and 40 mins to Leeds in the car.
Overall a great value place to stay, highly recommended
