First the good: The Knife River Campground is very reasonably priced, clean, and close to the North Shore sites. Customer service is spot on. It is a small campground right off of highway 61. Randy, the owner, goes above and beyond to make a person welcome and comfortable. The rules are strictly enforced. Which we like. A beach with agates to be found is less than a block away. A good restaurant is one block away. Across the street from that is a yummy candy store.
The bad: The bathrooms are small. Only one shower per sex, one toilet and one urinal for the boys, and two toilets for the girls. When they are busy you will wait. No credit cards. Cash or check only.
This is a no frills campground. Camping with full hookups or just a tent in a small clean campground, with a hot shower in a clean bathroom, and a great owner are all you are going to find here. Is it worth it? Every penny. Would we stay again? Yes!More
