We stayed a week during November 2013 and, the experience was superb. It's a simple hotel but has everything to do in an island, the coral reef around the island was amazing and we could do snorkeling just around the island without wanting to go in a boat unlike in some of the other islands. The trees around the beach gives a very good shade and you could just sit down and relax. The food was amazing and the staff was very very friendly. You will get a good value for money experience here. Will defenetely choose this if I'm going back again

Simple, basic but at the same time paradise. Travelled Mid-Jan for a week and stayed in room number 37, 15 feet from the quiet powder puff sand and warm waters with some of the best snorkelling ever.
Very clean room, nice food, buffet style (with our excellent waiter Mr Zakki!!!) and we really enjoyed the afternoon tea at 4pm with a slice of cake delicious!!!
Lovely people and well..............go yourself and enjoy..............love to go back!!

Room Tip: Ensure you ask for a room away from the dive centre or and bar/restaurant. Not that people were loud...

Myself and sister booked our lifetime holiday to the maldives and all our expectations was met when we arrived at Embudu. We was greeted with a cold drink and warm flannel and was immediately welcomed to the island. All staff was friendly and efficient. Our superior room was clean modern with great air conditioning and was cleaned twice a day.. The island was clean and the staff made every effort to clean up excess leaves fallen overnight.. The reef was amazing, loads of fish sharks and turtles. However there was strong currents now and then so flippers are a must when snorkelling, as is a underwater camera.. The food was fresh, tasty and a large variety every night. Our waiter Moosa was amazing and looked after us so well and is such a credit to the island.. We will miss him. We managed to go on all the excursions and was well worth the money.. We was full board for the holiday as we are not big alcohol drinkers and we was happy with our overall end bill for water and drinks.. Be aware that the island adds import tax and service charges on each drink purchased.. The weather was consistently warm and 30degree plus everyday.. There are no TVs in the rooms so pack plenty of entertainment. We was bare foot from the minute we arrived on the island so ladies don't pack loads of shoes. 1 pair of sandals is plenty. Also plenty of sun cream and after sun as it's expensive to buy when there.. We will definatly be back and we thank the embudu staff for our amazing lifechanging holiday..

The island is small and intimic, running room and bar are great decorated, the feeling is like a privet island, the rooms are nice specialy the water bungalow with the glass floor.
The bad side is to much cost cutting, all the extrase are extrimly expensive. Internet wifi is very costly, so by a local sim for fee bucks in the airport and its fine.

After 8 intense days touring Sri Lanka we allowed ourselves a few days luxury in Embedu Village. The island is small enough that it feels very personal. We had a water bungalow right on/over the water and spent many minutes watching the fish from the spacious terrace and through the glass panel in the floor. The room had maybe seen better days, but was large and clean, and perfect for our needs. The staff at the resort were largely very friendly. A big plus is the food: all 3 buffet meals were full of variety and offered delicious choices - we ate far too much at every meal. For those who dive, the island has its own diving school and many people come back each year to dive; for those who don't dive, the snorkelling is amazing (the island has its own house reef) and you can rent a simple kayak from USD 10.00 per hour. The only downside is the lack of free wi-fi due to the high costs of getting internet to the islands - 30 minutes online costs USD 5.00. Bear in mind also that although all meals are included with the full board tariff, all drinks are extra, and are not cheap. But all-in-all this was an incredible experience and the resort is 100% to be recommended.

Room Tip: We had a water bungalow and were very happy with it - especially for watching the fish. The standard...

My husband, 4 year old & I did a day trip. It was sensational value for 3 star. The beaches & snorkelling were AMAZING! Take your underwater camera! Snorkel hire was about $6USD. I highly recommend the "all inclusive" package that includes boat ride, an Aircond day room (great to shower off at the end of the day) lunch, afternoon tea and alcohol. The food was refreshing, varied and suited to most palettes. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The boat ride to and from the airport was great, just stunning ocean. A really good find in the Maldives. I highly recommend this day trip, wonderful value and just beautiful! I'll be back!

Room Tip: Any room will be fine.
