This is a beautifully restored and furnished Victorian house, with a lovely yard and garden. The owners are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is truly a gourmet experience, one of the best I've ever had at a B&B.

It's in a quiet section of town, but only a short walk to the center.

Highly recommended.

We could not have had more congenial and knowledgable hosts than Vicky and Peter at the Scandinavian Inn. The breakfast was truely gourmet! The 1880's home was beautiful and fascinating. There was much to do in Lanesboro even in November including the Commonweal Theater and many shops. The bike trail is supurb. Don't miss this gem in southern Minnesota. It made my birthday so memorable!

Lovely Inn, especially clean, wonderful fresh bed linens. Peter & Vickie are great hosts! We watched the sun set from the roof top gazebo, nice view of Lanesboro! Breakfast was absolutely wonderful, apple pancake with their own maple syrup and elderberry syrup, additional sorted fresh fruits, lemon pound cake, chocolate muffins, well seasoned egg with brie cheese, sausage and they remembered to accommodate my nut allergy. We would love to stay again! Amy & Ron
Easy bike ride along the river too;)

My boyfriend and I came down here for a wedding at the end of August. We had never stayed in a B&B, so we weren't sure what to expect, but it was amazing! We Had the Turret room, which has the disconnected bath, and it was wonderful. The other guests that weekend were very respectful and kind, and the owners were wonderful! We chatted with them during what little time we had there (when we weren't doing wedding things). They were knowledgeable about the area and the world, so my boyfriend (who is from India) was able to talk to people who had visited his home country. In addition to great hospitality, they had a breakfast to DIE for! We were served various courses with local fruits and vegetables, an amazing tomato pie (which I want the recipe for) and "take-away" bags if we wanted to snack on their delicious muffins later. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Lanesboro. Big thanks go out to Peter and Vicki for making our stay wonderful, comfortable, and fun!

We chose this B&B largely because it is marketed as an "environmentally sensitive" bed and breakfast and they seem to go above and beyond what most "green" establishments do. They definitely were that--we saw their reel lawn mower in the shed, their cloth napkins on the clothesline, and we had a comfortable night with the windows open listening to the crickets. Comfort, stylish surroundings, and great tasting food were not at all sacrificed for their truly green way of running the place. The owners were friendly and there was a great variety and quantity of tasty food for breakfast. The rooftop gazebo is truly unique and wonderful!

We just returned from a two night stay at the Scandinavian Inn in Lanesboro. This was a wonderful inn with comfortable rooms, gracious hosts, great shared living quarters, and delicious and creative gourmet breakfasts. We would definitely stay here on return trips to the area. This is a great location for taking in some of the scenic bike trails that go through the area.

My husband and I experienced a wonderful stay at the Scandinavian Inn on March 23. Hosts Peter and Vicki were warm and relaxed as they invited us to share their love for their beautiful Victorian home. The parlor areas provided nooks for reading and listening to music
as well as a piano for guests to play. We stayed in the Turret Room and especially enjoyed the fine linens, beautiful bed quilts and guest soaps. Actually, Peter and Vicki do an outstanding job of using organic and local produce and meats, and even drying the sheets on the line in good weather, which we have had in abundance this Spring in southern Minnesota.
Early morning coffee was left on a table outside of our room as the hosts prepared a full breakfast for us. Today's menu included juice, freshly baked lemon bread, double chocolate muffins, an array of fruits from mango cubes to blueberries, a puffed apple pancake, farm sausages, and eggs. It was hard to choose from so many delicious treats! Chatting with Peter and Vicki was especially interesting since we were the only guests eating in the dining room this morning. They proved as interested in us as we were in getting to know them. We left the table very satisfied after enjoying a delightful breakfast!
