Beautiful and peaceful BnB right behind the Lanesboro dam waterfall. We can hear the waterfall from the property and it is right in its backyard! The rooms are beautiful and it is situated on a small hill. There is a kids playground, a gr8 restaurant, bike and canoe/kayak rental right down the street at Lanesboro downtown.. The property is a late 1800s house maintained very well. Robert the owner is v friendly and one of the few people belonging to Lanesboro. He has a lot of history to share and knows a lot of local places. Breakfast was good too. Uploading some pics - the website does no justice to this charming BnB

Room Tip: Grand mas room is the biggest with the view of the Lanesboro dam waterfall. Millies room is the onl...

We stayed at the Thompson House, an 1870s Italianate architecture B&B, over Memorial Day weekend and were extremely pleased with our choice. The proprieters, Kathy & Butch, were so warm and lovely and made us feel very comfortable. We stayed in "Millie's Room" which has a jacuzzi tub that worked wonderfully. Breakfast was served at 8:30 and was very good. One morning Kathy served French toast with fruit topping, and sausage links. The second day it was an egg bake with homemade muffins and a chilled banana sprinkled with cinnamon and honey.

The mansion is beautiful and is perched on a hill overlooking the dam. Everything was so clean and tidy, and the grounds were blooming with lots of perrenials. It's a short walk (only a couple blocks) to the downtown area, which was perfect.

Our favorite place to have a cocktail & food was at Riverside on the Root. Can't wait to go back hopefully this summer when the weather is guaranteed to let us take advantage of the kayaking and biking that we missed out on this time due to the cold & rain.

Room Tip: Millie's Room is the only one with a jacuzzi.
