Stayed there twice now, once with prior owners and once recently with the new owners. Significant upgrades to the property in the past several years. Grounds are very inviting, rooms are greatly improved. New owners are great... very friendly and attentive. Only drawback for us is that the room smelled of smoke. Aired it out for the first day and it was fine. Love the location right on the main street in Lanesboro. You can walk to everything after a good day on the bike. Definitely will return.

Room Tip: All rooms have their own charm. We stayed in one of the apartments. room enough for 4 with a small...

We've just returned home from our annual stay at the Red hotel and we miss it already. It's so relaxing sitting on the hill and listening to the music across the street. Life is too short, so if you need some time to slow down and enjoy a few days away from a hectic life, the Red Hotel is the place to visit. The rooms are clean and comfortable and decorated so nice with local craftsman woodwork. The grounds are trimmed and manicured, and the succulents are abundant and beautiful. The new owners Jim and Pam have really knocked it out of the park. The updates they have made are wonderful. They are very accommodating and ready to help make your stay be the best it can possibly be. This was our 5th annual get away and we are planning number 6 already.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at the Red Hotel - easy walking distance to dining and shopping, and right off the bike trail. The Cherry Room was rather small, but clean and pleasant. We used our chairs on the porch often. The courtesy coffee was nice, and Jim, the Innkeeper, made sure it was ready by 7am when he found out we are early risers. Our only criticism is that the windows needed room darkening shades or curtains - very light, very early!

Upon the completion of our last trip to Lanesboro, we rebooked our rooms for this year. Well it was another incredible experience. We arrived a couple hours before the scheduled time we were to get our room, but that was no big deal as we were planning on biking anyway. We changed in the bike lock-up room and off we went.

Jim met us in the parking area and we did a quick catch up. It is so cool how both he and Pam remember your names and things we discussed last year. It really makes the stay feel like your coming to visit friends. This year we brought another couple with us. It was their first time to Lanesboro and the Red Hotel. Needless to say, they are coming back and we are bringing another couple.

We have already booked our 3 rooms for next year and cant wait to get back. I have a feeling if we can squeeze it in, we may have to try to sneak back up this year.

Thanks as always for your great hospitality.

Matt and Lynn

Room Tip: There is not a bad room, just depends what your needs are.

Eight retired teachers found Brewster's Red Hotel perfect for our summer get-away. The Studio apartment was our gathering place and the patio held a wonderful view of all the comings and goings of beautiful Lanesboro. The sleeping rooms were extremely comfortable and roomy. Owners Jim and Pam could not have been more friendly and helpful. The biking trails are all they're advertised to be. And, we couldn't even get to all of the wonderful restaurants! The food choices were extensive. We recommend Pedal Pushers and Four Daughters Winery (Spring Valley) for evening meals and for breakfast, nothing beats Spud Boy Diner for breakfast! Gordy is one fantastic cook and entertained us with stories and recipes. One of our favorite shops was the Slanted Avenue Mercantile. Owner Patrick was funny and helpful and has a very unique array of things to buy, including games, socks (!), soaps and lip "stuff"! All in all, we highly recommend Lanesboro and The Red Hotel with the highest praise. We'll be back!

We have stayed here for a long weekend for three years and love it. It's a great location....we park our car and don't use it again until we leave. We love sitting on the hill and having a cocktail and appetizers ( which we bring with us) before heading across to Root on the River for dinner. The rooms are cozy and clean..all we need as we aren't in them much. The Innkeepes are great..happy to sit and visit or to leave us alone, if they perceive that is our preference. Do be aware of the two day weekend minimum....

My hubby and I went to Lanesboro for a couple of days to bicycle. While we pick destinations for their biking opportunities we also look for quality accommodations to spend our non-biking time. Brewster's Aspen apt was a great fit. The hillside location was quiet and private. Two nice clean rooms, small kitchenette and a spacious deck made for a relaxing stay. Because we were just steps from everything hubby could have a 2nd beer at dinner (no driving).
