Enjoyed our two night stay in this great b&b in the Victoria room. Quiet, spectacular breakfast and dessert, friendly owners and staff, great location to town. Plenty of room to relax inside and on the well kept grounds outside.

A very nice getaway!!

We so wanted to love this B&B and that didn't happen. The owner Mary is a great hostess but there were too many misses here. The house is decorated in DARK Victorian with "stuff" everywhere, the breakfasts had great sweets-muffins and desserts but the entrees are only so-so with the tiniest sausage patties I have ever seen. The butler's pantry with free coffee, tea and marshmallows was a nice touch. Our bed was soft and saggy. All in all it was way too expensive for what you got.

We stayed for the first time at this lovely B&B in the Masquerade Suite with a balcony on the turret. The room was beautifully decorated, complete with chocolates on our pillows, and a large jacuzzi tub. The breakfast was exceptional with fruit, a to-die-for egg dish, sausages and an apple dessert. Coffee/tea is available 24/7 along with additional, to purchase, wines/beers. The landscape is gorgeous and has several quaint areas to sit. Although most weekends are full, I would recommend coming during the week (we stayed on Sunday), which is less busy. We rode bikes, which was only $10 for the entire day if you get them from the Little River General Store and say you are staying at the Scanlan House. The owner has been in the B&B business for over 20 years, which shows in all the wonderful hospitality and little details (like cotton swabs/balls in the bathroom). Yes, we will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Rooms in the rear of the house are larger and newer.

This is a great place to stay. It is quiet, has a well-appointed butler pantry, friendly staff, nicely decorated, and comfortable beds. The Safari Suite has its own private entrance and off-street parking spot. The Masquerade Suite has a balcony on the turret that is also fun. The 3-course breakfast gets you set for the day and you can head out on the trail afterwards. The restaurants open on weekends in April.

Room Tip: Safari Suite or Masquerade Suite.

second time staying at Scanlon House, a lovely bed and breakfast that is hard to beat. The three course breakfasts are wonderful and hold you until dinner. Staff is very friendly and attentive making sure everything is satisfactory. Will be staying again next year.

Room Tip: If you can afford it, one of the suites are the way to go- larger and you can have your breakfast se...

This was our first B&B experience. Mary, the owner was there to greet us and made us feel comfortable immediately!
Our room (The Masquarade Room)(Sp?) was exactly how it was described and exceptionally clean and well maintained.
Loved the coffee/snack area. When we came in for the evening, it was so nice to have a cup of tea and then up to a relaxing jacuzzi bath.

Room Tip: This room has the small balcony that overlooks the yard. Loved sitting out there!

Scanlon house in Lansboro, MN is a beautifully restored old house. I have to agree with the other reviewers though; just too much stuff. Every table/surface is covered with draping cloth, plastic flowers with a few beautiful antiques mixed in . Our room was very large and comfortable. The bed linens were so wrinkled and loose on the king size bed, I was afraid they had not been changed from the previous occupants. That kind of creeped me out. The towels are old and need replacing. The breakfast was very good, 3 courses including dessert. There was plenty of food. The coffee was awful; could hardly call it coffee, more like flavored water. The hostess was very pleasant and helpful. All in all, the experience was ok but would probably not stay there again.
