My sister and I stayed for two nights while skiing and snowboarding at lusten mountain. It is very close!! The complimentary breakfast at the main lodge was very good. The hot tub and sauna were nice and hot and the room was comfy. Overall we would definitely stay there again.

Stayed here in April and will be visiting again in a few weeks. Purchased a Living Social voucher for 2 nights at the Mountain Inn. The hotel could use some updating but is very clean. We were one of 2 other guests when we stayed in April. The hot tub was clean. We enjoyed the hot beverages in the lobby as well as the board games. Don't miss eating breakfast at the Lodge where you can taste some local maple syrup!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The spa is currently closed due to a burst pipe but that was not a problem as they let you use the pool and spa down at the main lodge.
The whole hotel was extremely clean, very cozy.
When we checked in our room was freezing and the heat was completely off. It took around an hour and a half for it to warm up fully but once it did it stayed very warm.
It seems they are renovating the rooms which is great. The linoleum in the bathroom could use an update and the mattresses but we were still very comfortable.
There is only staff there at certain times. I was nervous about this at first but it turned out to be absolutely ok. Everyone was very courteous, and the hotel was silent even though it was pretty full. I worked for an AmericInn for 10 years and I was very impressed with this location.
You do have to go down to the lodge for breakfast (about a mile away) but we thought it was well worth. The breakfast buffet was FANTASTIC. After breakfast you can sit by the lake down at the lodge or follow the trail along the lake. We fully enjoyed our time at the Mountain Inn.
We stayed in room 213 and had distant views of the lake which I was not expecting. We were there on a livingsocial.com deal.
For the budget traveler in the north is is a fantastic place to stay. We will happily stay again.

Room Tip: Uneven numbered rooms upstairs can see lake superior.

Did not have a reservation and while coming up 61 called. For $79 this was as good as any Choice hotel or better. Great ski parafaniia on walls. Breakfast down hill in original lodge overlooking Lk Superior( continental )
Don't miss Gooseberry falls and Split Rock lighthouse. The old gondola( installed at Loon mtn NH and transplanted to Lutsen in 89.)was good for this skier. Wish I could ski this place.
I'm sure the rates are higher during ski season

Moguls restaurant across street was fantastic.

Staying at the Mountain Inn was an enjoyable experience. We normally stay on the lake but our usual hotel was booked. We were able to find a room here and I was pleasantly surprised. It is nestled in a wooded area and we had a tree view from our room. Beds were comfortable and window opened to let in the fresh air. The most pleasant surprise was the breakfast that was included in the stay provided at the Lutsen Resort. You were able to choose from a couple of breakfast options including eggs and toast or you could upcharge and add other items onto your meal. It was a beautiful view and great way to start the view.

Spent 2 nights in Lutsen. It's a very calming resort area in the summer. Went up the road to the Caribou for dinner as there isn't a restaurant at The Mountain Inn. The hotel could use some updating but it is very clean & comfortable. The breakfast is offered in another lodge & it doesn't open till 7 AM....too late in the morning for us & not convenient either.

We went up on the North Shore of Lake Superior this year for the 4th of July! Had a really relaxing time at this lesser known Inn near the big Lutsen Ski Lodge. Quiet, clean and tucked away, it was a fine getaway spot for us. Also included were breakfast vouchers for the classic Lutsen Lodge Restaurant located right on Lake Superior with a super view! All in all everyone in our party liked the Mountain Inn!

Room Tip: On the second floor you may see some of the lake!
