This hotel is so relaxing you never want to leave to go into town. They have a shuttle service that picks you up at the port and takes you to the hotel and shuttle service to and from the center of town everyday at convenient hours. The staff is friendly and helpful. The poolside restaurant terrific, two big saltwater pools and just a short walk down the hill to a private beach.
The spa is first class with an indoor heated pool, sauna, jacuzzi and many spa treatments. All rooms have terraces overlooking the water. My room even had a private jacuzzi out on the deck.

We were originally booked into the Royal Myconian but ended up being put into the Myconian Imperial which is essentially exactly the same hotel! Due to this we did not mind being changed but what I do not understand is why this one big property with same owners, driveway, decor and shuttle bus etc is marketed and named as two different hotels??! It beats me. You'll see what I mean when you go there.
Another thing that beats me that others have also mentioned is how it gained it LHW status as that should not have been given. The hotel is pleasant and 5 star but a Leading Hotel of the World?? I think not. It is a bit dated in some ways, the bathrooms and beds were not great although they had really nice products from Korres. The pool is fantastic with lovely loungers and view to die for. The water was too cold but it was September which leads me onto my other point. The MELTEMI wind!!! It was very very windy and we were nearly blown over a few times. This wind comes at that time of year and even has a name, the meltemi. Boy is it strong!!! We couldn't believe it!!! Especially when it blows down those tiny windy streets in the town.
The hotel is a pretty out of the way so hiring a car is essential to get out and about and its easy to park by the town. We got a good rate from the hotel for a smartcar, we must have driven 100miles but for some reason the petrol needle never moved so we didn't have to fill it up - whether it was broken or it was an extremely economical car we will never know!
We enjoyed our stay but would prob not stay again.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and it was terrible! STAY AWAY! This is definately not a world leading hotel!
I must say that the hotel looks great when you arrive, the lobby is goergeous however that's where all the positives finish. One of the worst thing about this place is the staff - l have never come across such unprofessional and arrogant staff. We had to book an early flight due to limited availability and had noted this when we booked (requesting an early check in) - we arrived at 10am and did not get into our room until 2pm on the dot(not one minute earlier) - we sat at the lobby and saw the staff show numerous guests to their rooms though supposedly our room was not available yet(not that l believed it!) We finally arrived to our room which was quite small and the balcony was tiny with absolutely no privacy - all the balconies overlook eachother so you can hear everyone. The worst thing about the room was the constant noise of a generator near our room - this noise, on top of the noisy air conditioner made it very difficult to get a good nights sleep. When we requested a room change, they hesitantly attempted to put us in another room. They actually took us to a room with faulty airconditioning - after telling them that the air conditioner was not working, the so called 'assistant manager' tried to tell me that l was wrong and that it was working fine - we actually had to wait in the room to prove that the room was not getting any cooler! Unbelievable! Supposedly they had no other rooms available as they were fully booked so we had to return to our original room. The bell boy had to return our luggage back to our room and actually returned it damaged - he basically handed our luggage wheel with no explanation or apology. He just walked away! We had to call management to send someone to try and reapply the wheel to our luggage - no respect for other people's property!
Anway, the rest of the staff weren't any better! We had buffet breakfast included and the milk was curdled ( l can only imagine how long the milk was sitting at the table!) and the staff were not attentive - they sat around in groups chatting rather than attending to guests. We actually saw guests get up and have to ask for more coffee! The only time staff were attentive, was when the hotel owner entered the room - this quickly broke up their group chats! The staff were terrible and food was not much better! The view from the breakfast area was nice, it overlooked the pool and beach. The 'private beach' was a long walk down a steep hill and the hotel is actually located quite far from mykonos town however suprisingly they do offer a free shuttle throughtout the day.
The pool which also included a pool bar was nice, and it was a good place to try and relax.
This was our second time at Mykonos and we had previously stayed at Mykonos Grand - a much better hotel, better location, better service, and much better views - would definately recommend Mykonos Grand rather than this hotel!

Wound up here because the evidently much better Myconian Ambassador--also closer to Mykonos town--was booked June 23 to 25, 2007.

PLUSSES: Shuttle service to and from the ferry - Bus service to and from town several times during the evening - Spa (I had an excellent masseur) - Killer view of Elia Beach from the room - Wide variety of food at the breakfast buffet - English-speaking front desk staff that did bend over backwards to please - Marvelous air conditioning (a must for the days we stayed...it got up to 115 degrees F on June 24)

MINUSES: A near-oversolicitousness on the part of front desk staff (management must have been reading the not-so-glowing reviews on this site and, as a result, have been cracking the proverbial whip) - Water coming up through the bathroom floor drain upon very little use from the sink or shower, flooding out even the hallway (it took a request to be moved to another room in order for maintenance to finally clean the hair and other debris clogging the drain) - Corroding bathtub fixtures better suited for Chicago's Cabrini Green (beyond-dilapidated project housing) than a "Leading Hotels of the World" facility - Getting hosed at the poolside bar (Cokes were 4 Euros versus an actual 1.50 Euros from the room mini-bar...and hot sandwiches were 12 to 16 Euros each)

If you have moderate to major trouble with balance (I have minor-to-moderate issues), you'll definitely want to look into a place where you're not walking up and down (and ultimately standing on) steep grades!
