“Convenient location, nice staff”
Reviewed 24 July 2014 via mobile

Stayed here 2 nights in business. Exactly what you'd expect from a Courtyard. The room and hotel were clean and convenient. The staff was very welcoming and friendly.
Only complaint was some plane noise (which is expected staying so close to the airport) and they have me 2 conditioners and no shampoo (obvious mistake since the little bottles are almost identical)
Overall it was positive and will be back next time I'm out in our Minneapolis office which is less than a mile from this hotel.

The Marriott-Minneapolis-St Paul airport looks to be newly remodeled with a contemporary decor. It is located directly in the flight path of the airport, but with the air conditioner fan running, I did not have any difficulty sleeping. Parking and wi-fi are free.

The mattresses and pillows are very comfortable. The room had a small microwave and refrigerator. The refrigerator was odd in that it wasn't cold upon arrival. It had a button inside with a snowflake with the words "2 hours" next to it which went off after a couple hours. I tried putting a bottle of coke inside to keep it cool, but it didn't seem to work so don't count on it if you need to keep items cold.

Breakfast is not included in the price of the room, but there is a small restaurant/lounge on the first floor called The Bistro. If you call the Bistro 10 minutes prior to the time you want to leave in the morning, they will have a hot breakfast waiting to go for you. I ordered the healthy breakfast which was a huge english muffin sandwich with fluffy egg whites. I needed a napkin to hold it to keep the contents together while eating it. I didn't use the pool or workout room so cannot comment on those.

The bathroom was very clean with wonderful water pressure. The shower head is adjustable from a gentle spray to an invigorating massage to sooth tired muscles.

The rooms are clean, well put together and inviting. The bathroom was clean and simple. I never had an issue with the water temperature. There is no breakfast but we got around this by bringing some bagels, etc and a toaster. I also brought along my own coffee and filters. It's all about doing your research and adapting. I'm not going to groan about no free breakfast. Hot tub could stand to be a tad more hot but we were glad they had one. The bed was extremely comfortable. We were placed in close proximity to the ice machine so this was very convenient as we brought a cooler for drinks and picnics on the go as well as for the drive there/home. Staff was very friendly. We mostly used our hotel for sleep and rest as we spent more time running around town than hanging out there, but I have no complaints. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Get a room on the courtyard side

Thank you for being our guest and for rating us. I will double check the hot tub temperature to ensure that it is meeting the Marriott standard. At Courtyard by Marriott, we do offer our Bistro that has breakfast and dinner daily with a great selection of breakfast and dinner items. We also serve Starbucks coffee/specialty drinks and have coffee in each guest room.

We look forward to serving you again in the future.

Sincerely,

Mike

Rooms are nice and quiet, and the staff is great. If you are here for the long term bring some snacks. They have a pantry, but the prices are horrendous. A continental breakfast would be nice, or even a free coffee. There is nothing within walking distance for entertainment or dining. The little restaurant Bistro is OK but expensive, and it is not open all day. Having to go to the front desk to get a cup of coffee in the afternoon is not convenient. It's 2014; put out some coffee. Learn something from the Hampton Inn, free coffee and hot chocolate all day, every day. That is a nice perk. I would stay here again for a single night (if it was cheap enough) but not for long term.

Thank you so much for being our guest and for your feedback.

Please accept my apologies for the issues that you experienced. Courtyard hotels such as ours offer complimentary coffee in each room as well as Starbucks coffee 24 hours a day for a charge. We also offer The Bistro which is open for breakfast and dinner daily and The Market that is open 24hours a day. This is a dining experience that other limited service hotels do not offer.

We hope to have the opportunity to serve you again in the future and travel safely.

Sincerely,

Mike

We used a park, stay and fly service when we booked this hotel. We were not disappointed. The hotel is ten minutes from the airport in a quiet professional commerical area. Most of the businesses were closed for the weekend so there was no traffic. We stayed in a clean room with nice new beds. We opened the patio door and slept to the sound of rain drops. It was a rare treat to be able to turn off the air conditioner/heater and breath fresh air.

Room Tip: All of the rooms face the courtyard. There is not a bad side to the hotel.

Made a top dollar reservation several days in advance, we arrived late, ready to sleep to get ready for a morning business meeting. We were greeted with "good news bad news" we are going to comp your stay. Bottom line is they moved us 20 miles southeast to a holiday inn. Our meeting is northwest so it added 40 miles in total. First time I've ever been overbooked at a hotel in a civilized country, last time I'll ever stay at a courtyard marriott.

Thank you for your feedback. Please accept my apologies for the fact that we had to relocate you to a different hotel and I feel terrible about the inconvenience we caused you.

Unfortunately, as we discussed in our emails we did have 2 rooms that had maintenance issues during the day that we could not sell to our guests. Customer service is our priority and the last thing that we would do is put our guests in a room that was not up to Marriott standards or that had issues that needed to be resolved.

We hope that you will give us and Marriott another opportunity to serve you again in the future.

Sincerely,

Mike Mitchell

After initial confusion at the airport - there are 3 Marriots nearby - "Courtyard Marriot Airport", "Courtyard by Marriot", and "Marriot Airport", so keep the hotel number handy if needing airport shuttle - I finally arrived in Mendota Heights, and couldn't have been happier.

Very close to the airport, great shuttle service, as well as complimentary shuttle to several nearby restaurants and the Mall of America, welcoming and efficient front desk staff, and a very clean, quiet and comfortable room. Perfect. Somewhere I'd be happy spending several days.

I didn't feel like going out for dinner, so tried the Bistro - the food and service were both great. There's no room service, but you can order "take out" and take it back up to the room yourself.

Excellent experience.

Thank you so much for your kind words and feedback. Great tip about keeping the hotel number where you will be staying as there actually is quite a bit of Marriott product in the market and each hotel's goal is to get it's guests picked up as quickly as possible from the airport. Thus, seeing all of our Marriott shuttles can be a little confusing if it is your first time to the area.

We take pride in providing great service and we look forward to serving you again in the future.

Sincerely,

Mike Mitchell
