We lived at one time on Lake Calhoun, it is quite magical. Perfect to take a great walk or sail, or any other lake activities. It is a busy area at all times of the year. Great restaurant tin fish open during the summer and fall, always busy.would recommend to all ages to enjoy.

This is a perfect place to spend a few hours to relax and view the reason so many people love the City of Lakes. Skyline views, water and walking, and biking paths. Perfect Minnesota.

This a beautiful park, we go there, take our bikes and swimsuits and spend the afternoon. I rated lower just because parking is a bear, and because it's so nice it tends to be crowded.

During hot weather months this park gets crowded and is not as enjoyable (for us) because of the annoying runners and walkers who feel entitled to run you over if one doesn't move fast enough. However, the walking path is nice with views of the neighborhoods all around plus you get a workout with the 3.10 miles loop. There is an area for children to play and there is a beach area as well. There are some portable restrooms in a section of the loop. During summer the café in the park is open as well as their restrooms.

It's too noisy in the summer. There are way too many cars and motorcycles that cruise around this lake. The pedestrian paths tend to be overcrowded so that many pedestrians use cycling patch much to the dismay of cyclists who try to navigate through thick traffic. The problem is that it really has no bathrooms except by the Tin-Fish restaurant and those restrooms are attrotious. It's a nice place to jog or bike when it is not crowded. swimming is not good and it is limited to a couple of small beaches. The place is popular among sailors. Water fountains are non-existent bt there are some manual water pumps that one can use in warmer months (they don't work in the winter). Some fishing is allowed too. Lake of the Isles and Lake Harriet are much quieter and nicer alternatives to Lake Calhoun.
