What a beautiful view! We visited the area recently and the falls are just lovely. This is not Niagara but it is lovely none the less. Make sure you visit the Mill Museum and the Guthrie which are located here too.

I visited on a Sunday and there were a few roads closed for block parties due to football games and various other events so it was a little bit of a pain to get to but totally worth it.

Very scenic waterfalls on the Mississippi with the beautiful fall colors surrounding you as you walk over the stone arch bridge and its 76 degrees on an October afternoon. Perfect afternoon to enjoy the gorgeous scenery off of downtown.

St. Anthony is probably one of the best parts about minneapolis. I'm not a huge city person, but do enjoy going down to the restaurants downtown, but St. Anthony is a little different. The falls area is really nice but so is the whole 'main' part too. Small boutique hotels and restaurants line the place and you feel like you're downtown, but not in the crazy rat race.

The falls are not themselves spectacular. The lock-and-dam set at the foot of the falls destroys a lot of the natural beauty. Moreover, there is little to do in the area. There is car parking and a walking path, but not enough variety to make this a destination stop.
