“Never freeze again.”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

Just kidding. You can't go everywhere through the skyway, but you can get around pretty well. It's a life-saver on those bitterly cold days when the thought of going outside makes you want to die. Tons of cafes and coffee places, some retail, even a weird museum. The downside is that has limited hours during the weekend, and once you get out onto the street, it's hard to get back in (unless you're staying at a hotel downtown). Definitely go with a friend...there are some sketchy people hanging around. Lots of fun!

“Nice winter walk”
Reviewed 8 February 2014

The Minneapolis skyway system is a nice way to get to see the entire Minneapolis downtown area while staying warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The skyway system is open early and stays open late and covers most of the city, although if you lack a strong sense of direction it can be difficult to navigate. Without leaving the indoors you can visit many restaurants, retail stores and even catch a game (Twins, Vikings or Timberwolves).

“Great way to get around with one caveat!”
Reviewed 15 January 2014

This is a great way to get around. Especially in sketchy parts of downtown. It would be much better if your skyway map included times that certain portions shut down. We stayed at a hotel at the end of the sky way and could only make it half way back at the end of the night due sections being shut down. This was very annoying!

“Skyway mapless but warm & full of treasures if your time is unlimited”
Reviewed 6 January 2014

Astonished a massive Skyway system of this nature has no app or current map for tourists. While people who work downtown are knowledgeable of the vast array of restaurants, stores & small stores must be walked to be discovered. Although the hotel shuttle dropped me with a color-coded tiny map, it was discovered upon investigation some major department stores had been gone since 2006 and the map was created in 2006. Buildings & complexes have no consistent directory or schedule to guide you and nothing to carry with you. By accident, I found an awesome store called, "Pacifer" with friendly staff & outstanding variety of awesome toys, books & seasonal deals on darling, coordinating clothing for kids up size 12. Found awesome deals at Marshall's & was delighted the next morning to learn they found some new leggings (with Macy's tags) we had dropped trying to match to a top. People everywhere were friendly & kind, but even Barnes & Noble staff had no knowledge how to take their skyway without going through an outdoor parking garage. If you have no schedule, enjoy the walk, but be sure you have your GPS to return back to where you started.

“Great way to stay out of the cold.”
Reviewed 15 December 2013

In case you didn't know Minneapolis can be very cold in the winter. Having the skyway system is an absolute life saver. I just wish it was more easy to navigate in the late hours of the night and weekends, because when using the skyway you often have to pass through private owned buildings and stores, if said store is closed then you must find an alternative route.
