We were happy to find that Sanctuary was only a couple blocks from the Guthrie. Unfortunately, instead of enjoying a nice meal before a play, we spent a lot of time in a confrontation with the owner/manager. He tried to convince us that a tiny (slightly bigger than a ritz cracker but not as thick) cold slice of a fois gras loaf was the seared fois gras that we paid about $8 extra for. All he needed to do was say “Sorry, our mistake. Would you like something else?” Instead, he decided to try to convince us it was actually what we ordered. He eventually took $8 off and brought us dessert and a gift card, but too late. The atmosphere was already spoiled.
