We stayed in a double queen room for two nights, and were pleased with this downtown hotel. It's on the fringe of the downtown area, but not in a rundown area, and only a 5-10 minute walk from the center of downtown with all the restaurants, etc. If you have a car, staying here is a real plus. Self parking (outside, not in a garage) is only $8/day, substantially lower than what you will pay at other decent downtown hotels. The lobby area is a bit dark and depressing (could use a refreshing), but the rooms are just fine. Our room was very comfortable with a good flat screen TV and good lighting. The bathroom was just average, with a good shower but small sink. We did have an issue with finding the right adjustment for the thermostat, and the toilet wouldn't flush one time, but they fixed this quickly. I would recommend that they improve the quality of the towels---they were pretty fllmsy.
The hotel's restaurant seems above average (for a hotel), although we only had breakfast there. There's a very large indoor pool area, and the exercise room is OK. Staff were very friendly and helpful with restaurants, etc. Overall, this hotel is a very good value for staying in downtown Minneapolis, especially if you're driving.
