Did not expect much from a Days Inn, but expected a bit more considering the $200 rate they were charging during the All-Star MLB game. Thankfully I came here just to sleep and it served the purpose. Front desk staff were friendly. The room was not very modern, but somewhat clean. It is just not very updated. Beds were not too comfortable. Included continental breakfast which I did not try. Another downside is the 11 am check-out time.
Thank you for taking time to write about your recent experience at Days Hotel on University. We are currently in process of renovating many spaces within the hotel. We appreciate your feedback and hope to see you back at our hotel on your next visit. Thanks again!
We got a good rate to go in conjunction with seeing the Prairie Home Companion forty-year anniversary show on the Great Lawn of MacAlester College. We enjoyed riding the new Green Line trolley to and from the venue. The hotel was a good value because of the negotiated rate, but the quality was average
Thank you for taking a moment to tell us about your recent stay! We love that all of our guests are really taking advantage of our close location to the Green Line Light Rail and all that it offers. We hope on your next visit you will have a chance to explore downtown St Paul and the rich history of our capitol as well. Thanks again and hope to see you again soon!
Location is great for a University of Minnesota - Twin Cities visit. People working there were very nice. Continental breakfast was average. Those are the only positive comments I can make regarding our stay. As we entered the room, we were greeted by a damp, musty smell. The bathroom was disgusting. Tub was still dirty. There was black grime surrounding the toilet where it was attached to the floor. The ceiling had small black mold dots. The second day, we came back to the room to find the beds looking like a child made them up and the waste baskets were not even emptied. Not a place I would want to stay again unless I had no other place to stay.
Thank you for taking time to write down some notes on your recent stay. We take all of our reviews incredibly serious and we apologize that you did not have the kind of experience you deserve and what we strive for in our hotel. I will personally be discussing your concerns with our housekeeping and maintenance staff to address any and all concerns with the room you stayed in earlier this week. I appreciate you bringing these issues to my attention. Thank you again and I hope to have an opportunity to show you the kind of hotel we truly are, in the very near future.
We've stayed here several times while visiting our son at the university. This time was our last time staying here. Our desk chair was broken, the bed was made incorrectly (blanket was under the flat sheet) & we only had one bath towel in the room for two people. (Not discovered until 2nd person was in the shower!)
Room was clean, pillows flat, bed wa average firmness. Out previous stays were much better so we were glad that our son has graduated & moved to a new area. I saw a sign that they are renovating the hotel soon so give it a try after that is finished! It is just steps from the light-rail and TCF stadium.
Dear Peg H,
Thanks for providing feedback on your recent stay! We are going through recent renovations and do hope you have an opportunity to come back and visit after they are complete. We do practice triple-sheeting in our upgraded business class rooms, which is when a flat sheet is placed below and above the blanket as it makes our guests feel more comfortable with this added measure of care taken. I apologize profusely that the fitted sheet below was somehow missed and will address it with housekeeping to ensure this is a one-off error. Thanks so much
We stayed here for a week for volleyball nationals at the convention center. We did not rent a car because the metro is just a few steps from the door. You can take the metro to the convention center, mall of america or airport really easy. It's only 1.75 per person. The hotel is clean. The beds are full not queen. The towels are a little old and thin but clean. The shower has good pressure but sometimes at night I didn't get enough hot water. The breakfast was bigger than expected. They offer a waffle maker, toast, yogut, milk, juice, fruit (bananas, apples) oatmeal. I didn't like The eggs too much I think they were frozen and thawed. The free wifi, is not good, it comes and goes but never very strong. They have 3 computers in the lobby to use and print anything. The employees were very helpful and friendly. The university is across the street so there are a lot of restaurants a couple of blocks away. We saved a lot by staying a few minutes away from downtown, About half for the hotel plus free breakfast and because we were away we got to see more of the city and university by renting bikes a couple of blocks away and returning them down town.
What a fun review of the Days Hotel on University! Our location really is awesome and it allows our guests access to via light rail to Downtown Minneapolis (and now St Paul as well) without paying the outrageous downtown prices. I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and tried a couple different ways to see our city through light rail, bike-share, and by foot. Thanks so much for your notes and hope to see you on your next visit to Minneapolis!
