They fell to tell you that apon checkin that you will be charged twice. One with a 50$ fee which is return. That turned into 139$. Then when you check out they charge you again just for the room. So you have two charges the room and a 50$ charge, then another room charge. I have CDL so my room was cheaper then a regular guest. So now my account was charged 230$ which only 89$ should have been charge. So now I gotta what till Ramada refund my money that usually takes up to 7 days.

Jaynsusan,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review. I apologize for the billing snafu. Guest satisfaction is our top priority. Our rooms director, Nina, has been in touch with you and the bank and that the issue has been successfully resolved. We hope to have you as our guest again the next time your travels bring you to the Minneapolis area.
Thank you,

The hotel was very beautiful and updated. The room was very clean, quiet and comfortable. Free parking and the location is good and close to downtown. The pool was great but the hot tub was not hot at all, more like a lukewarm tub. The restaurant food wasn't terrible but it was way over priced. I suggest saving your money and going somewhere else to eat. all in all a great stay and great hotel.

I have stayed here 100's of nights in the last 3-4 years, and find it to be truly excellent value for money. Very close to downtown, but (unlike d/t hotels) free & plentiful parking.

The rooms are comfortable (have recently been refurbished with large flat screen TV's) and some are quasi suites with sitting area fridge & microwaves, and some even do have separate bedroom.

There is a restaurant and bar here, so no need to venture out on cold winter evenings, or just if you can't be bothered to battle Twin Cities traffic. Several restaurants will deliver food here also, and the Twin Cities has two restaurant delivery services which increase the delivery choices even more.

If you are heading out, they do run a free shuttle service to pretty much anywhere within a "reasonable" distance (although not to the airport, so far as I know).

While the restaurant's food is fairly standard, the bar staff and waitstaff are very attentive, friendly and really make a huge difference.

The same goes for Front Desk. The manager there posts a notice in the elevators "Ask us if anything can improve the stay" and the difference is they really mean it. It is (and feels like) a family-run hands-on enterprise versus some vaguely corporate-feeling hotel as is so typical and often "cold" in feel.

Posts have mentioned lack of hot water. I have noticed that when the hotel is busy that that can happen (the water is not cold, it's just not HOT hot). But if you are early riser this is not an issue. The bathrooms are a little bit small, but the rooms themselves are quite spacious.

And, in terms of value received for price paid, I think this hotel really provides excellent value.

I do consider it a "home from home" and truly recommend it. I have tried all the hotels in the area and (regardless of price) this is the one I choose. There are some nice hotels in the downtown area of Minneapolis but, boy, the "incidentals" like parking & Internet really do mount up and kill you if you are staying for any length of time.

Incidentally, very good and free wireless Internet at the Ramada Plaza. Along with three desktop PC's in the lobby to use if you do not have wireless PC, tablet or phone.

Many evenings a pianist plays during cocktail hour in the lobby. A nice touch.

Room Tip: Although close to I-35W, traffic noise is no factor. I prefer the tower rooms (8 storeys) to the low...

We had the funeral for our grandma down the street at Sunset Memorial Park and the Ramada works with them to host the reception after ceremony for the family. We were there for a couple of hours and they catered it, it was a light luncheon and it was REALLY light but the lady working with us was so nice and helpful and she was on top of her game. It was nice weight off our shoulders to have it done this way. No clean up, etc. No other staff was encountered and I wish I had gotten her name but thank you Ramada for helping make a hard day a little easier
