Even with valet parking, it was a nightmare trying to park and unload. The suite had an amazing view, but was not much larger then our standard room. There wasn't a fridge or a microwave in the suite. For the price they were charging for the suite, a fridge should have been in the room. We called the front desk and was told they didn't have any they could bring up. We originally reserved one suite and two standard rooms. We cancelled one of the standard rooms and confirmed it upon our check-in. Around 10:00 p.m.we received a text about being charged for the extra room because we were a "no show" and didn't cancel. It took a while to straighten that out with the front desk. I do have to say the rooms were quiet and comfortable, but still disappointed with the overall status. For the price, I was disappointed.

Room Tip: Unless, you are looking for amazing corned views of downtown Minneapolis, don't waste you money...

Good bed, sheets and comforter. Well-appointed room. The bathroom had the worst lighting I have seen in a while - I put my make-up on by the window in the bedroom. Nice exercise room. The concierge lounge had a good coffee machine that made lattes and had a serviceable selection for breakfast. The location was good - quick walk to restaurants. This was a "good" hotel (between average and very good).

Dear Seejanwork,

Based on your picture and your review name I can see that you travel quite frequently.
We very much appreciate your review of the hotel during your stay.

The hotel is undergoing a renovation in 2015, which will include new linen, carpet, drapes, and new lighted mirrors for the bathrooms. The new mirrors will make a tremendous difference and will alleviate any of our future guests facing the same challenges that you did. If your travels bring you back our way the hotel does have lighted mirrors available upon request.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Best regards,

Kurt Boerner

Probably the quietest rooms I've ever stayed in. Sold out for the week we were there for a conference, we never heard anything from the rooms to either side of us. Beds were comfortable. Lots of channels on the TV. No fridge.

Watch out for south facing rooms for two big reasons: 1) your room will get hot due to the sun, 2) the clubs just to the west will pound out loud bass thumping music you will hear as low, reverberating sound in your room, even 20+ floors up.

Housekeeping took half empty water bottles from our room. They changed our linens half way through the stay leaving us with very damp duvet covers and damp sheets. I am sure this is a one off event but weird.

Connected to the Skyway walk system that keeps you indoors throughout Minneapolis downtown. From Target Field and Target Center all the way south east to the Convention Center - all indoors! But beware of weekend store hours that will lock down the system (10am Saturdays, and 12Noon Sundays).

Room Tip: Triangle shaped hotel makes for some odd shapes rooms. Avoid south facing rooms.

We had a 2 night weekend stay. Late check-in Friday night took awhile, as there was no one at the desk when we arrived after 11. All food had shut down for the night, as well as room service. we weren't given the breakfast tickets, or parking access card that we needed, which caused a bit of confusion/delay the following day. Rooms were clean and staff was friendly. Hotel is in great location for walking to Target field, bars and restaurants.

Nothing new to say from other reviews. Valet or self park. If self park, you're given an access card to drive in and out. Once parked, it's an elevator ride to the street level, a long interior walk to the hotel entrance, then an elevator ride to the fifth floor where the lobby is inconveniently located, then another elevator ride to your floor. Pleasant staff and small general store in lobby. It would be more convenient for the front desk to be located closer to the elevators. The double room is comfortable with attractive furniture and plenty of empty floor space. There is a full-length mirror on a closet door, and the usual desk, dresser, and reading chair. There is a small coffeemaker and the small fridge is locked on a hand truck on the floor (odd). The draperies do a pretty good job of darkening the room and the room design blocks incoming light from the door. The room was pretty quiet for a downtown city hotel. The beds were not luxurious but no problems sleeping on them once we covered the vent to redirect the A/C from blowing cold air directly on the bed by the window. The gym is located on the seventh floor. It is clean and has plenty of equipment.

Dear Teresa M,

Thank you very much for your comments regarding the hotel. We appreciate hearing from a senior contributor to TripAdvisor. We understand that it can be a small walk from the self-parking ramp to the hotel. On our busy check-in days we offer a shuttle from the self-parking garage elevators to the hotel entrance for our guests. I apologize if we were not running the shuttle when you checked-in.

We hope that you enjoyed your stay with us and look forward to hosting you again.

Nice Marriott in downtown Minneapolis.

Easy and inexpensive access to hotel from airport. Only $1.75 off peak fare from airport ($2.25 peak) on clean and safe light rail line. Get off at Nicollet Mall stop, turn left at Nicollet Mall street, walk two short blocks, take a right on 7th and there is the Marriott half way down the block.

Streets felt pretty safe, even at night.

Street level entry into the hotel goes into a small lobby. You then take an elevator to the main lobby to check in. Separate elevators from the main lobby serve the rooms. This is not uncommon in urban areas and adds to security.

Room was nice, with decent bedding and nicer toiletries. Bathroom shower only, not perfectly clean but acceptable. Quiet enough for me on 11th floor.

TV has separate input panel for hooking up laptop or other video sources.

Lots of TV channels. Internet is expensive in room, but free in lobby.

Easy to get around on transit. Free bus rides on Nicollet Mall street or just $0.50 in downtown zone.

I would stay here again.

Well managed and spotless clean Marriott. Most pleasant and helpful staff I can recall of any of the Marriotts we have enjoyed. Stayed 5 nites. Breakfast buffet in main lobby (on 5th floor) was delightful, especially omelettes. Guest room very spacious and comfortable. Quiet and easy to sleep late. Great views above proably 20th floor.
