“Rooms and casino great, buffet crew .... stop being lazy”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

We did enjoy our time at the casino and hotel. The kids quest place allows parents to play with their child, its a bit pricey i think since parents are watching their own kids, but they still had fun. Lots to do there. The kids pool was fun but it sure would be nice to have monitoring in there as i had to throw a couple thirteen year old brutes out due to poor behavior when several other toddlers were trying to have fun. I wasnt being a prude either. The parents said thank you. Casino was great, lots of games, enjoyable. Now the buffet. The lunch buffet was great on saturday. Delicious. But sunday. Holy moses get your lazy selfs in gear. It wasnt stocked. Selection was poor. There were supposed to be omelets but that person was chattin with her friends down the way. So a guest who wanted an omelette was like...hello????? And she strolls up. The mini donuts were gone and i asked for more and she says shell check so seeing the attitude i said great ill wait. She rolls her eyes and finally goes to get some. Plus a sign for potato soup was out and it was actually clam chowder!!!! People come on! If someone had a seafood allergy!! Get it together! Poor attitude, no work ethic, no choices, a waste waste of our hard earned money. Yuck.

My husband and I spent a Thursday night there for our 15th anniversary (we were married in Vegas and "won" this trip at a silent auction and thought it'd be funny to stay at a different casino). We were very pleased, especially after all these negative reviews. Sure, it is a smoking casino, so there is that odor. If a person is used to Mystic Lake or the like, i can see it being bothersome. But our room was clean, our king bed was cozy, the halls and night were quietand we appreciated the coupons for the on-site Caribou. The eateries were varied and we ended up at the main place, but not the buffet--we chose to eat at 8PM and that food did not look totally fresh. The other place, way in the back, smelled too much like fried food.
The lady working at the counter told us of a place to eat in town for breakfast and it was delicious! hometown deli! yum!
the golf course down the road was a great ammenity!
we did not go swimming.
we'd go back, if the ride wasn't 2 hours...

Stayed one night and was disappointed with the room and smell of smoke! There was stuff on the carpet and I found long hair in the bathtub and on the wall and floor. It just made me feel so not clean. Like I said disappointed as I expected more, at the very least a clean room.

Service was wonderful. Nice people. But will never go back because of the cigarette smoke permeating the property. We had 4 nonsmoking rooms in the upgraded part of the hotel and air quality in all 4 was gross. Invest in better ventilation!

Our experience with Jackpot Junction was two-fold. Leading up to our reception was a nightmare. We had a contract signed over a year in advance and things were changed a few months from our reception date. Jackpot Junction hired a new Sales and Catering manager, Lisa, who had no regard for anything that was discussed during our first meeting at Jackpot with the previous sales associate, who had been in charge of receptions for years with no complaints. They raised prices on all food items. They told us we were not allowed to have a candy bar. We were no longer able to do a food tasting to decide on our food choices. About a week after our initial meeting with Lisa, she decided we could bring in our own candy for the candy bar, but we had to pay additional fees that were never discussed before. The sales staff was very rude to us and didn't care that these changes were being made. Communication was always late and lacking in information. We tried to meet with the General Manager, Brian, of Jackpot Junction in person to discuss our issues, but with no luck. He would only discuss things on the phone, not in person, even when we were right downstairs. If we could have changed our venue, we would have. I will say for our actual reception itself, things went smoothly. Ryan, our banquet captain was amazing. The banquet staff was great, food was good and hot and served on time. We will never recommend Jackpot Junction to anyone as long as Lisa is working there. We don't want anyone having to experience what we did during a time that should be fun and worry free.

My husband and I stayed here on a Saturday night and booked a recently updated premium room. The room was very clean and updated and the bed was one of the most comfortable beds we've slept on and we stay 85-90 nights per year in hotels. The white comforter was a lot like the ones at Hampton Inns. My only complaint that is that they don't automatically leave you enough towels and washcloths; one set per person. You have to ask for any extras. We ate at the restaurant and the buffet, with both being pretty good. The night staff could of been more friendly and professional, but the staff at check out in the morning was great.

We finally got a chance to go see our children in Marshall MN. It was only a hour from Jackpot Junction and the price was certainly inexpensive. We originaly had planned to just stay one night but the nice lady at the desk said we could still have the same price for Friday night ($50). So we stayed two nights. We were impressed with the Hotel having a security guard in front of the entrance. We will be back. Thanks again

Room Tip: The elevators are in the middle of the Hotel so if you have walking dificulties ask for a room close...
