Description: This started as a wine kaberet. However, they added a restaurant last year with a full menu. One side is a wine bar with an entertainment stage and the other side is a small restaurant that can be intimate and family oriented. Very unique and historic property in the heart of New Ulm, MN. It is a historic hotel that dates back to 1856. The 2nd floor is also an art and cultural center and the 3rd floor is being turned into artist suites. Very unique place for any city....

This restaurant was highly recommended to us by the locals. It did not disappoint! We were treated to live music by a brass band as well as taken care of by a very helpful, attentive waitress named Kayla. We enjoyed drinks and the Hunter's Fondue to start. Fun dish! We also tried the prime rib pizza cooked in the wood-fired grill--delish! Highly recommend The Grand Kaberet!

I and wife went to the Grand Kaberet for lunch. The air was good with some nice decorations such as copy painting of Alphonse Mucha (aka Dance). We ordered Hunter fondue and bowels of soups. I ordered Caramelized onion and tomato soup, and my wife ordered a bowel of German spinach tomato soup. The server was friendly, but she did not bring napkins. The soup was too cold, thus we had to reheat the soup. In my opinion, onion needs to be more melting if its is caramelized onion soup. (It was more hard and uncooked.) They were: however, very tasty despite these issues. I prefer more cheesy dip for fondue, but it was very excellent! Hunter fondue comes with apple pieces, bread pieces and three different meat sausages with cranberry, blueberry, etc. Someone recommended Pizza soup which they did not have at the time of visit. We did not try Pizza, but they look very delicious. We definitely want to go back to the place to try other dishes such as cheese fondue, Pizza, and Pizza soup. We paid around 35 US without tip (without drinks).

We have been to the newly renamed Pepperboys several times in recent months. We have tried the pizza and BBQ and found both delicious. The atmosphere is intimate and relaxing on the dining room side. Even when there is entertainment on the other side, you can enjoy the entertainment without having to shout to be heard. The service is friendly and usually the owner stops by with a greeting.

My husband and I, along with our sons and families had a birthday dinner at what is now the Pepperboy Restaurant. There is a fire brick oven for specialty pizzas, BBQ with 5 different sauces to choose from. We had a fondue appetizer that included, venison, wild boar and Andouille sausages that was TO DIE FOR. You must try the house Pinot Noir, one of the best I've ever had; and the desserts were heavenly! Key lime pie, praline cheese cake and chocolate mousse with raspberry sauce. Wonderful service. You will not have a finer dining experience in New Ulm.

We stepped in for a drink and dessert after a disappointing meal at another area restaurant. Very glad we did. Had the key lime pie and the flavor was exquisite. The bartender (sorry I cannot remember her name but she was small with straight blond hair and a wonderful smile to go along with her positive attitude). The drinks she made were some of the best we had had. We had to hang out a little longer due to the rain and got to experience some wonderful music from a cowboy singer. The meals we saw delivered to other diners looked and smelled wonderful. Next time we will be back for dinner.
