Our food was very good, but the real reason to come here is the setting. Try to get a table overlooking the quiet little lake. The service was fine and friendly. A couple of the dishes were exceptional, a couple good, and nothing disappointed.

Our second time here, because last year our visit was so wonderful - again we made reservations for our group for Sunday brunch. Upon arrival, the entire dining room was empty - and we were given lunch menus instead of the brunch offerings. Upon asking our waitress and hostess why we were informed 'lunch starts in half an hour, we only have brunch for another 30 minutes'....perhaps she was having a bad day, but if we are within the time window for brunch, would it be possible to actually order brunch? With a few huffs and roll of the eyes, she hurriedly walked away and said 'x' will be your server, not me.....'x' was a very nice young man who took orders promptly......food was awful, arrived lukewarm and our entree (huevos rancheros) was greasy, came with greasy fried flour tortillas instead of the soft corn tortillas printed on the menu, oily hash browns, dried out black beans, and was more verde sauce than eggs. Coffee was cold and had to be sent back. Will not return, avoid on Sundays because the hostess and the kitchen staff evidently have better things to do.

A good choice of 3, 4, 5 and 6 course meals with a sorbet in the middle. Each course had several selections to choose from. We did not see an ala carte menu, but you don't need it. You can order with or without the wine paring, which adds about $5 per course, but was definitely worth it. They had steak and chicken, but also walleye, lamb chops, king salmon, pork, seafood, and tofu vegetarian meals. Normally when there are so many choices the quality suffers, but so far we have not experienced that over the 3 years we have been there. The menu changes from time to time, but we only go once a year while on vacation, so we don't know how often. The courses are definitely foodie quality, with flavorful and artistic presentations. There is quite a bit of innovation and use of local ingredients. This time there was a Minnesota duck prosciutto with local cheeses, deep fried olives and lavosh in one of the cold starters. It is a lodge on a small lake with views everywhere. It is a little pricey. We had the 3 and 5 course meals and, without tip, it was $151, but we feel it is worth it for something that is quite unique to the MN lake country area. It is definitely #1 for sit-down, quality dining in the area.

We have been here several times for special occasions and it's always a delightful experience. It's a quaint spot on the lake with a fixed price, multi-course, limited menu, including wine pairings. The menu has been different every time we've been there. The menu typically has has some interesting and unique items. Excellent, friendly service.

We recently visited Lost Lake Lodge and enjoyed a marvelous four course dinner. The flavor of each item was excellent and the service was superb. I would highly recommend visiting this lovely little find... classy, peaceful, beautifully tucked away in the woods.
