Although Cru is hidden in the subterranean chamber of a convention center, it is possibly one of the best restaurants in the Brainerd lakes area. The staff is welcoming and knowledgable about the menu and wine. There is a full bar as well (try the Cool Mary!). We were thrilled by the use of truffle oil in the shoestring potatoes and honey butter. My husband loved his walleye and my scallops were cooked perfectly. I disagreed with the cold Peruvian potato salad as a foundation for the sun choke purée but to me this is a thrilling adventure of epicurean delights where one's personal tastes and values can be assuaged by a perfect creme brûlée. Our daughters were delighted by the huge serving of cut fruit with their dinners too. I highly recommend Cru.
