Nice to have a decent Indian restaurant in Northfield... thanks to a transplanted Brit owner. Food very good, prices fair, but service is mega slow. And have been there three or four times, and it is always like that, not just an isolated occasion. If you are not in a hurry, great place to try Indian food.

I did not care for Indian food at all, even that served by my cousin's wife who is Indian. However, the food at Chapati changed my mind! We ate there with friends who knew what dishes they enjoyed, and we were not disappointed. I can't remember any of the dishes we ate, except the naan bread, but every thing was delicious. Chapati is located in the historic Archer House hotel, and has a nice ambiance and decor.

The service is much to be desired here. They are slow serving meals and tried to turn us away on a Friday night because the kitchen was "too busy". We had them put us down on the waiting list, gave them our name and cell no., and went to a bar close by (within the same building). They never called us. We will have to be very very desperate for Indian food IF we ever go back. Instead, I highly recommend Indian Palace in Burnsville. Service there is excellent and the food much better AND fresher than this place.

We ate at the lunch buffet, and all three of our children (all under 13) enjoyed the food, as did we. The chicken garam masala was really hot and spicy, and the chicken methi was also exceptionally yummy. Our children enjoyed the tandoori chicken, rice, naan, mango pudding and more. The meat was white meat, not tough remnants or less desirable cuts, and the veggies were delicious. We are not strangers to Indian food, and I can say this was a great meal. We would definitely go there again.

We went for Sunday lunch and the food was amazing. The price was fair and the buffet was just spectacular. Our server was very nice and the place was very unique! We WILL be back again!
