My husbands comment was that everything was done well here, and I agree!

Quality and attention to detail were evident from the flowers surrounding the building to the beautiful presentation of our breakfast (waffles with fruit and whipping cream, fried potatoes, and a fruit cup). The Oriental Room on the third floor was quiet (we never heard another guest and the inn was full) and well-appointed. While we decided that we'd prefer a regular shower next time, the large claw foot tub with brass wand shower suited the ambience and worked just fine. Soaking in the deep tub was great after a day of biking! We didn't use the fireplace or sample the sherry in the decanter on our antique dresser...this was a 90+ degree weekend so we were happier with the cold water and air conditioning!

In addition to the beautiful inn itself, the innkeepers were helpful from the moment we called to inquire about a room, until they wish us a safe drive home as we checked out. They offered suggestions for dining and biking, and we enjoyed conversations with them.

All in all, this was a wonderful 2-night get-away. We hope to go back!

An ideal B&B. Good beds, great breakfasts and gracious hosts. The Court Room, where we stayed, was spacious, quiet and had direct access to a patio with chairs and tables. It is a great place to read, lounge or dine outdoors,

I would add a third b for biking. The Jailhouse Inn Is a few blocks from a well maintained biking trail. Lanesboro is just a 10 mile ride away, and is a great spot to stop for lunch or a cone before heading back.

Superb hospitality, quiet, clean rooms, fabulous breakfast (they cater to food allergies) and lovely neighborhood. We visited during the Bluff County art show which is well worth the time and drive; lots of talented artists. Will definitly go back.

My cousin and I spent a weekend here. We wanted a place that was near the attractions of Lanesboro but without the hustle and bustle that come with a place like that. We found it at the Jailhouse! Our highlight of the weekend was not having to cook our own meals.

Our days got started with a deliciously filling breakfast by Marc and Jeanne. The Sather's really know how to season their food. YUM! I knew I would be sad once I arrived back home and had to make breakfast myself. It just doesn't compare....

We stayed in the sunroom. My cousin took the bed and I had the settee which turned into a twin sized bed. Pull-out beds aren't usually comfortable to begin with so I dealt with it as best I could. The only other negative was that our shower pressure was really low (not sure why) but we dealt with that too. We were on a girls' getaway and nothing was going to ruin our time away from our hubbies and kids....

Highly recommend this B&B and have already told our extended families about it.

We had trouble finding lodging for two nights near Lanesboro MN & finally settled on this B&B with a dubious name. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but thanks to a $750K interior job the inside is wonderfully warm and well done, complete with all the modern touches, even a sprinkler system in case the James Gang comes making mayhem. Inside there is no mayhem, rather it is dead quiet and decadently comfortable. We picked the most expensive room - the bridal suite. Spacious & nicely appointed with a King bed, comfortable seating, a shower & giganitic double whirlpool bath (we didn't try it), and complementary flask of sherry it was a bargin at $160/night. There was also a nicely furnish parlour for those who like to hobnoob with other guests. Breakfasts were reasonable portions expertly prepared with fresh squeezed OJ as an unexpected treat. The innkeepers were mostly unseen except at breakfast an amicably knowledgable about the area. There isn't much else in the tiny berg of Preston, but it is very close to most of the attractions in the region. Highly recommend this place and riding the pleasant bike trails.

The renovated jail house was amazing. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The owners were very accommodating and we enjoyed visiting with them. I would definitely go back for another visit and I would highly recommend this place to friends and family.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with a more family members than just 2, the jail house suite would be very fun...

A spur of the moment decision to get our of town led us to the Jailhouse Inn in Preston, MN. We stayed in the Bridal Suite - a very comfortable king sized bed, two person oversized whirlpool jacuzzi. Working Wood Fireplace. Private lavatory. No TV, No Internet, No connection to the world. A great opportinuty to spend time with the person you love. In the morning we had a delicious breakfast. Scones, Fresh Fruit, a variety of juices to start. Then herb omelet, home fries, sausage. All delicious. Marc and Jeanne are wonderful , gracious hosts that have converted the Preston Jailhouse into a first class B&B.
