Wonderful stay at this hotel. Just 5-10 minutes from Duluth. Friendly staff. Clean room. Great breakfast for an Americinn--Denver omelettes, icewater with orange slices, and biscuits and gravy added extra touch that was wonderful.

I loved this place! We were here for the dog show but enjoyed our stay so much I hope they will have us again next year. Great place to stay with good dogs and no poop on the grounds at all. People were picking up after the dogs.

Room Tip: All the rooms are quiet and the pool was well cared for

Enjoyed our stay during the Duluth Dog Show...lots of dogs in the hotel, but rooms were quiet and only saw them outside. Great area for walking dogs and with good restaurant in the same lot, it was a real time saver to enjoy a good dinner and not leave the dogs for long. Good breakfasts and menu varied over the 4 mornings there. Staff friendly and helpful, also. Well kept up grounds, too. Would stay there again as access to Duluth waterfront was easy and fast.

Room Tip: Was in center of hotel, room 126, so great access to dog walking area and parking lot and convenient to carry crates, etc!

We had trouble finding accommodations in Duluth for one Friday night but found a room that met our needs at Americinn Duluth South in Proctor. The room was clean and quiet and the front desk staff , led by Ryan, was more than top notch. He was curteous, efficient, cool under pressure and had a tremendous sense of humor. Except for the lack of a soft, upright chair for the room, all else was adequate including microwave, refridge, TV, iron and board, luggage rack, hair dryer, coffee pot, desk and hard chair.

The restaurant called Blackwoods that was attached was also a convenience as well as amazingly adequate. Food, drinks, ambience, serving staff and prices were reasons to enjoy and to plan a return trip.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms are reached by stairs but no elevator.

Americinn is very consistent in its quality. And like all Americinns, the building construction is very good. I have never heard anyone from another room in many years of staying at Americinns. This property on the outskirts of Duluth is no different. It's easy to get to. Although it's a mile off the interstate, there is only one stoplight to reach the property. Only about a ten minute drive to downtown Duluth and Canal Park.

Rate was $82.99 during the week in the summer in Duluth for a single... not too bad for this area. Canal Park motels are of course more, because being near the lake comes with a rate premium.
