“One of the most comfortable B&Bs ever”
Reviewed 18 May 2009

We went on a friends weekend driving trip up the Wisconsin side of the Mississippi, with Red Wing in mind for our evenings destination. We called the Pratt-Taber Inn after checking for B&Bs at the Tourist Center. lWe were greeted by Deb upon arrival, 5 minutes after calling her for room availability, She was most hospitable. The room was cozy and very clean, the bed "most comfortable." This Inn is within easy walking distance of downtown Red Wing and entertainment and dining. Our breakfast was excellent and conversation with Deb quite lively. We learned the history of this Home, Wonderfully furnished Inn, felt at home, will return on next visit to this area!!! This is a true gem of Red Wing & the Mississippi River area.

The Pratt-Taber Inn is a Bed and Breakfast meticulously restored with quiet elegance, good taste, and practical comfort. Owner/Innkeeper, Debbie, is the consummate host~the angel is also in the details~ brownies baking on our arrival, gracious in a down-home kind of way. Our room was lovely but not fussy....large enough for several seating areas, inviting us to stay in and soak up the peace. We were invited down for wine and appetizer before heading out to dinner and returned to a wee basket of chocolates, and the gas fireplace glowing. The bed and bedding were heaven as were the soft, melodious measure of time passing from nearby church chimes.
Coffee brought up 1/2 hour before breakfast (which was a beautiful and delicious feast). We did not want to leave.

My girlfriends and I stayed at the Pratt Tabor Inn for a girls weekend getaway. This place is wonderful. The house is very beautiful and comfortable. Loved IT! The inn keeper Deb is a wonderful lady and we couldn't have asked for a better breakfast. The house is within easy walking distance to downtown shops and eateries!

My husband and I drove to Redwing spur of the moment for a get away, so did a lot of other people because we couldn't find a room. A bed and breakfast referred us to Debbie at the Pratt-Taber Inn. She had just opened and welcomed us to come and stay.

The house and rooms are wonderful but the best part is Debbies attention to every detail and her warm and friendly way. We felt like we had made a new friend by the time we left. Did I mention the amazing breakfast - the food was incredible.

I recommend it highly!

The Pratt Taber Inn was just what we were looking for! I was traveling from Boston to visit a friend from Faribault and we wanted to spend the night in Red Wing where I was disembarking the train from Chicago at 9 pm. I looked and looked for a place that had twin beds and when I found this inn on the web, I emailed about availability. The innkeeper promptly wrote back saying she'd love to have us even though it was off season and she might have to work! Long story short, she was there for us and even offered to pick me up at the station. The innkeeper, Deb, is extremely warm and friendly, helpful and enthusiastic. She had brownies ready for us when we arrived and served a breakfast of yogurt, fruit and homemade muffins when we wanted to be served in the a.m. Freshly brewed coffee was available for us to drink in our rooms upon rising. She could not have been more hospitable! The rooms were very clean. The brand new bathrooms were tiled with marble, some had shower stalls and others clawfoot tubs. The towels were large and soft. The beds were extremely comfortable and the decorations lovely. Wireless internet is available. I would recommend this B & B to anyone
