Our family has stayed at the Moondance Inn for five years. We love every minute of our stay. Mike & Chris have become like family to us. They have seen our family grow as well. The house is filled with so many wonderful furnishings. Each room is and warm and inviting. We have stayed in each one of their bedrooms and we can't pick a favorite. Each of them are cozy and comfortable. We also love the spa tubs and the warm robes provided. Then there is the breakfast - what can I say - every item is delicious. We can't wait until the next time we stay there.

This was a pleasant stay at a bed and breakfast. The house was built in 1874 and had some beautiful designs. There was plenty of space in the common rooms where you did not feel crowded with the other guests. The front porch was big and inviting. Our room was big and comfortable with a nice whirlpool tub. Breakfast was good, but nothing spectacular. The hosts were friendly and helpful with ideas of what to do in Red Wing.

We spent 2 wonderful nights at this beautifully restored 1874 house. It was relaxing to sit on the front porch and enjoy the beautiful views. The gardens enhanced the relaxing atmosphere. Our early morning walks through the historic district were a great way to begin each day. Michael and Chris were warm and knowledgable with a keen appreciation for local history. The food surpassed our expectations, especially the stuffed french toast and coffee cake. Excellent coffee! We slept well in comfortable beds. The air conditioning was a relief from the hot, humid days of summer. It was a wonderful romantic 2 days! Can't wait to return.

We had a two-night 'sneak-away' to the Moondance Inn. Chose the package that included dinner at The Norton's, and two half-hour massages. Overall, we were very pleased with this B&B.

The property is beautiful. Great architecture in the house with plenty of public space on the main and third floors and five guest rooms on the second floor. Thoroughly decorated with plenty of interesting accessories, but barely a scrap of lace in sight (thank you!). Extremely clean, even for a B&B.

We were able to view all five rooms. All had private baths with toilet and sink, a whirlpool tub for two, and an electric fireplace (really a space heater with fake wood & flames). The King's Room and Garden Suite have the whirlpool in a separate room, and the other three in the same room as the bed.

The Garden Suite has the most privacy, as it has exterior walls on three sides and an interior hallway on the fourth. The King's Room seemed to have the most space, with a table and chairs nice to sit with a cribbage board and a bottle of wine. The other three were somewhat cozy.

Despite being full with romantic couples all on the same floor, the place felt quiet and more private than I've experienced in other B&Bs.

Dinner at Norton's was an interesting experience, but not a remarkable value once we paid for a bottle of wine and the mandatory 18% gratuity. The massages were adequate. The wine and appetizers each evening were simply cheese/crackers/meat, but were lovely to enjoy in front of the wood fireplace in the main room. The breakfasts were a bit sweet, but enjoyable.

A couple of tips if you stay there: There are no showers in the guest rooms (though the whirlpool tubs have a shower head), but there is a shower available in one of the public bathrooms. The lighting in the bathrooms (at least ours) was not conducive to accurate toiletry, so bring a lit mirror if you're planning to need perfect makeup. And the air is very dry (which you can expect in an old house in a Minnesota January), so plan to drink a little extra water and apply a little more lotion.

We enjoyed our stay at the Moondance Inn. The host was friendly, the atmosphere special but comfortable, and the property lovely. I recommend it especially for a first B&B experience.

My husband and I stayed at the Moondance for our 3rd anniversary and we had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful, and even in September, the garden looked great. We really enjoyed sitting out on the enormous front porch and our room was very comfortable too. Obviously, due to the age of the house, the room wasn't sound-proof or anything, but we didn't find any of the other guests disturbing. One reviewer complained about the trains, but my husband and I actually LIKED them, so I guess that's all subjective. We only met one of the owners, but he was extremely helpful in recommending places to eat and giving directions. I highly recommend the Moondance Inn.

My husband and I chose the Moondance Inn for our 17th Anniversary getaway. We have stayed in many B&Bs over the years and Moondance was simply the best. I have never been so relaxed and at ease and peaceful. The house is wonderful, the rooms perfectly appointed, clean, so QUIET, and have everything you could possibly want (we didn't miss the TV for one minute!), and the owners were exceptional hosts. The breakfasts were fabulous and could not have been more delicious! What a treat to be waited on hand and foot. You can tell how much the owners care about their business and how much they want their guests to have the best time ever. Well, they accomplished that! You will not regret staying at this incredible inn. I was also so impressed and appreciative that they have kept their room rates lower than most any other place in the area. That made it possible for us "average joes" to be able to stay there without taking out a second mortgage on the house! Incredible value. I can't wait to go back! THANK YOU SO MUCH Mike and Chris, for having such a special place, and for your superb care.
Cheers!

My husband and I stayed at the Moondance Inn on our honeymoon and could not have been happier! The room was very comfortable and the hot tub was just what we needed after our 20-mile bikeride. The host, Mike was wonderful....very helpful in finding excellent restaurants for dinner and served great breakfasts!! I look forward to our next stay!!
