The building looks older, as if it had once been some other kind of chain hotel and recently put on the trappings of a Comfort Inn. We noticed scratches and dinged up woodwork and bits of hardware and infrastructure lingering with no apparent function. The breakfast was right up to standard and was carefully tended, tidied and refreshed.

Stayed several days and it was easy to get to and from Mayo. Comfortable and clean and quiet. About 7 minutes from downtown to The Mayo Clinic. Has a very nice indoor swimming pool and hot tub. Good breakfast and good rates.

Room tip: Older hotel but quiet and clean

Hotel is located at the Northern most exit in Rochester so the Mayo Clinic is a distance away and I didn't see anything listed to say they have a shuttle. These weren't issues for us but may be for some. Hotel has a small pool that looked okay. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. If you are in town for Mayo, make sure at let them know at reservation time. If you want to use a debit card, they have a sign recommending that you don't based on their corporate policies. Breakfast is a standard hotel breakfast.

Very clean and comfortable. The staff is truly concerned about making the stay a wonderful experience. Quick check in and out. Plenty of food in complementary breakfast. Lobby is huge and very pleasant.

At check in the clerk tried to charge me 2.30$ for a room safe. Apparently it was already on my bill so she needed to remove it. The room smelled like a hospital room. We slept with AC on and the window open all night. The grout in the bathroom was black in most spots, one bathroom light wasn't working, no bath vent fan, and the shower drained out of the shower area onto the floor. There was an outlet in the room that didn’t even hold a cord to plug it anything. You plug a phone charger in and it fell right out onto the floor. Every trash can in the building was overflowing to the floor with trash and stacked on top. The hallways are very dark. The carpet is stained in several spots down every hall we walked. Breakfast was poor. The eggs were cold, sausage dried out and the area was very messing for just opening twenty minutes before we went down. The beds were not made properly. They were bumping and looked to be just thrown together. To top it off there was a couple in the room down the hall that were fighting horribly when we got off of the elevator at check-in. They were yelling, throwing, and pounding. You could hear them down the hall. Around 3:20am Sunday I was woke up to them screaming at each other outside. After about 10 minutes in and after she started screaming for help that he was going to kill her I dialed 911. They were all over the property and the property next door. I was the male running with her belonging that she was yelling to get back during the fight. This went on for over an hour and the police never arrived from what I could see. They eventually re-entered the hotel, pounding down the hall. The next morning they were at it again. Hotel staff did absolutely nothing to end the confrontations between the two.
