The photos that are posted here on the site are of the Plummer Building which is downtown Rochester, and was named for Henry Plummer, and it is worth visiting also. But the Plummer House is where the Plummer Family lived and it is about 9 or so blocks from St. Marys Hospital on 2nd St. SW. It is gorgeous all year round but the gardens are incredible in the summer, and to find out when you can check out the inside of the house, you can type in Plummer House Rochester MN. (they have tours in the summer each week.) Mr. Plummer was very much a man ahead of his time. Breathtaking grounds and even a water tower on the site, and in the summer 2 water fountains! The tours in the summer are $5./person, but to walk around the grounds is free, it is a city park so park rules apply. (keep in mind people do have parties, and weddings there!! So be considerate of them, they have paid money to have their event there-I have photos from my wedding of about 3 who were not involved in our wedding at all, in our wedding photos! But they were all very respectful and considerate of the situation-one person actually helped my soon to be Mother in law hanging up a sign on a light pole for our wedding!)

We visited the Plummer House during our stay in Rochester. Although we were in town for the Mayo Clinic, we found we fell in love with Rochester and it's people, restaraunts, and sights! Plummer House is a beautiful historic mansion in the hills. We enjoyed exploring the huge grounds, which are immaculate and worth the trip on their own! This is an activity you can easily fit in to 30-60 mins; makes a nice outing while visiting Rochester.
