La Quinta Inn & Suites Rochester
Ranked #6 of 50 Hotels in Rochester
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 28 August 2014

This hotel exceeds the standards of any other La Quinta we've visited, and it compares very favorably with other hotel chains costing $30 to $40 a night more. We spent seven nights there recently with our dog, and we were really impressed with the quality of the facility and the level of service provided by the staff. The people who work there are very proud of their hotel and it shows. The room was clean and comfortable. It was exceptionally quiet. We had excellent nights' sleep throughout our stay. We were on the pet floor, but we were rarely ever aware of another pet, unless we happened to encounter one in the hallway or outside.

Because a large percentage of the guests are visiting the Mayo Clinic, the housekeeping staff works very hard to accommodate schedules. If your "Do Not Disturb" sign is out, you won't be disturbed -- either by a knock on the door, or a lot of loud noise in the hall.

Breakfast in the morning was a real treat. Short of getting a made to order breakfast, I don't know how it could be improved. The people who work in the breakfast area are friendly and help make it a pleasant experience.

You can get by without a car, if you need too. Eating choices are a little limited in the immediate vicinity, but the free shuttle to the Mayo Clinic has hours convenient enough to allow you to eat downtown, if you don't mind eating a little early. If you were to miss it, Rochester is small, and I doubt that a cab ride would be very expensive.

This place will be at the top of our list when we return.

We only stayed one night in Rochester and the hotel was very much what we are used to in the La Quinta line. We were comfortable, the rooms were clean and the hotel was quiet at night. We had our dog with us and although we had a pet room it was clean and did not smell of disinfectant. The breakfast was the usual fare and the staff was friendly and helpful.

Dear Valued Trip Advisor Traveler:
We appreciate your positive feedback on our new La Quinta Inn and Suites. It is hard for us to believe we have only been open for five months. We are glad you found our hotel comfortable, clean, and quiet. The vacuum seal at the entry doors is a key new ingredient in our overall soundproofing of the hotel. Our staff is focused to go the extra mile and we are pleased they were friendly and helpful to you. We wish you a relaxing and happy fall season. We look forward to seeing you again soon!

I have stayed at this LaQuinta Inn The week of July 13th. I stayed for eight days. I was here to go to the Mayo Clinic. I am here again because I was so impressed with the quality of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, the morning breakfast, the hotel shuttle which picked me up at the airport, the hotel shuttle taking my to Target and to Walgreens as well as St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Saturday afternoon. Gong back to the staff "EVERYONE" is polite and ready to help you in anyway they can with a smile and a genuine concern for your comfort of your stay. This time I am staying for a month. Again because I am here for the Mayo Clinic. I would recommend the LaQuinta in to anyone.

Room Tip: I hear there is a room with a hot tub in it. I have a room with a queen bed. A very large TV with gr...

The hotel is nice and clean. All the staff were very friendly and it is in a good location, and there was a short trail around a little pond that the kids liked. The pool was ok and the breakfast offerings was great. The rooms, however, are not soundproof at all. We were all awakened by a little girl talking loudly in the hall at 11 pm, the constant knocking of people trying to get into the room beside us drove us crazy, the fan turning on and off throughout the night kept waking us. There was no option to keep the fan on that would have blocked out most of the noise. None of us slept and left us all rather grumpy. This was too bad as everything else about the hotel is good. The whole reason to book a room is a good night sleep while on the road, and we never got that here.

Dear Summer Traveler:
Thanks for your positive compliments on our pool, breakfast, and friendly staff. We are glad you found our rooms to be clean and liked the decor. And, we agree our suburban location with a pond is very beautiful.

We do patrol our hallways regularly and we are sorry we did not catch the loud noise you heard at 11 p.m. Our energy management system is designed for maximum room comfort to take the temperature in your room to within one degree of your chosen temperature level. However, in order to do that the system will cycle on and off. Our apologies for any challenges you faced during the night. In addition, to aid those who want white noise we have machines available to create that noise so you have continuous background sounds. And, although there are four layers of drywall between rooms which is supposed to enhance sound proofing, we realize it cannot absorb everything. We are always here for you and welcome the opportunity to serve you again. We sincerely appreciate your business.

My husband and I were impressed by the service, cleanliness, friendliness, and awesome furnishings at this great hotel, the La Quinta Inn and Suites, Rochester! The beds are awesome and we rated them as "comfort plus!" The TV was large, had great color, and the remotes were easy to use; plus you will get more channels than you have time to peruse. We liked the wall control for the room temperature; it was accurate and homelike. What a plus to have "great tasting" hot coffee and a good complimentary breakfast menu to choose from. This hotel offers the extras, like honey for your tea and keeps the breakfast items stocked and the room clean. Great ambiance with the wall fireplaces--nice touch especially for those upcoming cold days. We had a suite and found the bathroom was more than one would expect with a large 40+ inch TV on the wall and a huge whirlpool plus a shower. Both front desk and food staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful. WiFi access was easy and worked perfectly. Thanks for making the stay for our appointment at the Mayo Clinic not only economical, but a great accommodation! We appreciated the complimentary shuttle service as well. Thanks also for having a "pet free" floor! That was most appreciated.

Room Tip: Top floor is pet free!

Dear Trip Advisor Reviewer:
We are thrilled you were impressed with our service, cleanliness, friendliness, and overall hotel furnishings. We designed our new hotel to be bright and upbeat. The new 40 inch TV's we agree are large and with over 100 channels you have many stations to pick from. Thanks for noting the wall fireplaces, we too like their warm and changing of colors. We wish you a great close to summer and a safe and happy Labor Day Holiday. We look forward to being here for you.

This is our second stay here and we find it very convenient. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are large and always very clean. The breakfast bar has a variety and everything is very tasty...do enjoy it.
Our families live in the Rochester area so we plan to stay at LQ whenever we visit.
Thank you for a pleasant stay.

All the people were wonderful! Room was clean and comfortable. Good internet, good breakfast was being regularly restocked. It was a pleasure staying here. The only negative was the pool temperature, way too cold. I noticed no one stayed in it too long. Had I not really wanted to swim a bit, I would not have gotten in at all.

Dear Trip Advisor Reviewer:
Thanks for letting us know you liked our people focused staff, found our rooms clean and comfortable. Your appreciation means a lot. Our high speed internet both wireless and hard wired is used by a lot of our visitors and we are glad you had good reception. We are sorry the pool temperature was colder than you would have liked. We maintain a 104 degree temperature in our hot tub and 84 degree temperature in our children's and adult pools. The temperature may drop temporarily when the water is treated early each day to ensure 100% chemical balance in our pools. Enjoy the beautiful fall season ahead and we look forward to being here for you again.
