“The Kahler Grand is so nice and convenient too”
Reviewed 26 May 2014

I have stayed here many times in the past 5 years. I've always had good a good experience. This hotel has everything you need - restaurant, gift shop, pool, gym, helpful staff, etc.
And it's a few steps away from the Gonda Building of the Mayo Clinic! It's always nice to know that you can sleep until the last minute and still get to an early morning appointment on time!

Room Tip: I've stayed on several different floors - all were great.

I travel at least five days every week. When I became sick and had to go to Mayo Clinic I knew I would have high expectations. My physician actually recommended the Kahler Hotel to me. It was outstanding. The rooms were very beautiful and clean. The hotel was classy and full of ambiance. But what really separated it apart was the staff. Very knowledgeable, caring and seem to really understand the clients that they had staying there. I will have to go back to Mayo throughout the next several years, and I will stay at the Kahler without a doubt. What is really interesting, I travel the world speaking on the subject of Customer Service and then to find a hotel that is so outstanding has been so rewarding. Dr. Joe Pettigrew

Room Tip: I would recommend staying on one of the higher floors as the views are also very pleasing. Having o...

I stayed here recently for the Med-City Marathon. It was only 4 blocks away from the finish line so it was quite convenient. The hotel itself seemed outdated and kind of dark. I was given a fourth floor room which connected to the parking garage. The place could use some new carpets and a major refresh. But at the $79 marathon rate, it worked out well.

Hotel is older, but front desk area was very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. One can park a car in front of hotel without a fear of being asked to move away immediately. Convenient parking structure connected to the hotel on multiple levels. Rooms are clean. Great value for the money.

Older hotel but clean and nice. Rooms are smaller as older hotels usually are but clean. The staff was friendly and happy to accommodate. Would recommend for location close to mayo clinic. Even has an under ground walk to clinic. Would recommend but you can find cheaper just as close.

We truly appreciate your feedback and will be sure to share your comments with the hotel staff.

Within the last year, we have completely renovated nearly 60 rooms, and we will be continuing to renovate and refresh more. Though the rates are higher for these rooms, I think you’ll find them larger, more modern, up-to-date, and closer to what you may be looking for. Also, within the last year, we have also been getting new linens, mattresses, and draperies, and furniture in
our standard rooms. I strongly encourage you to look into these renovated and refreshed rooms in the future.

From everyone here at the The Kahler Grand Hotel, thank you for your comments as they will
allow us to better serve you in the future.

Old, outdated bathrooms with bottom of the line amenities including bath products and hair dryer. Hotel was clean and service was above average by every single person we met. Price does not reflect the hotel.

I stayed at the Grand Kahler for 2 nights while seeing Drs. and having appointments for my 6 month check-up. My stay was May 5 and May 6, 2014. We were in room 972. Great location close to elevators and quiet. The room was great--spacious and clean. Refrigerator and microwave were nice. I will definitely stay here again and appreciate the closeness to appts. and shopping and dining. Diane at the front desk was helpful and welcomed us back again. Everyone was friendly and attentive.

Room Tip: if difficulty getting around ask for a room clost to elevator
