We booked this as a priceline deal and feel we got a screaming bargain. Most folks seemed to book this at the Mayo patient rate of $100 and we were just over $50 although if you use priceline they ding you for $14 for parking that is included in their other rates.

We had absolutely no concerns during our stay, the accommodations were excellent and we had a nice size room with a King bed. Not sure how they pick the room assignments but if you only need one bed I'd ask for a king as walking down the hall we saw many rooms that were half the size of the room we were in.

Another kudo was the fact we arrived at 8am and asked if we could leave our luggage in a storage room as we had a 9 am appointment. The front desk clerk said that would be fine but that she had a room ready if we'd like to check in!

You cannot beat the location of this historic hotel in the heart of downtown Rochester. If you have appts at Mayo Clinic, you cannot get closer than the Kahler. You can connect to the Mayo Subway system and never have to step foot outside to get to your appointments. Rooms are outdated if you stay in the regular area - if you can, update to a suite or to the 'really' nice floors. Super close to great food and entertainment downtown.

Rooms are very old and outdated as well as entire hotel, used to be hospital and it certainly shows with small rooms same very hospital like bathrooms. conveniently right across the street from mayo so that's a plus, as well as the underground tunnels , pool very nice as well. Room service etc very expensive. Not deserving of its 3 star status, more like a two LA Quinta is a much cheaper and much nicer choice but is a bit of a drive.

We were in Rochester for annual physicals. The Kahler Grand Hotel is directly across the street from the Mayo Clinic and is connected by underground walkways as well. The staff of the Kahler Grand is helpful and service oriented. We needed two connecting rooms. They were able to accommodate us. The rooms are adequately sized. The bathrooms are a bit small with limited shelf space, but the vestibule outside the bathroom has plenty of space. The only beef I have is that I would have preferred higher quality TV signals. The TV/s are flat screen high def, but the signal is analog, which does not view well.

I was staying in Kahler Grand Hotel, RST, MN; for more than 2 months, while working at Mayo clinic.
The rooms were clean, comfy, not so big, but you can find there everything you need, even for such longer stay as almost 3 months in winter time in Minnesota.
Staff is taking care of you very nice, especially people at the front desk are friendly, kind people.I would like to point out Mr. David at the front desk, who is charming gentleman, his access is absolutely professional. David tries to be always very helpful to all visitors if they are troubled.
