We always stay in Hamptons and especially this one in Rochester. The staff knows us by name and we are always in the same room. A wonderfully warm place to stay as we are always going to the Mayo Clinic when we are here.

This is the second time we have stayed here and weren't disappointed. Clean hotel, comfortable bed, pleasant staff and great breakfast to start the day. We appreciate the fact that all bedding at Hampton Inns are changed after each guest.

My sister and I stayed at the Hampton Inn Rochester for four nights while visiting relatives in the city. We had been on the road for three weeks, so were happy to stay put for a few days. We were surprised that we had been able to get a room at the last minute since the county fair was in town, practically across the street -- a week earlier than usual.

We found our room to be clean and comfortable for the two of us (comfortable beds!). We had a plumbing issue when we first checked in and it was fixed immediately. We didn't spend too much time in our room because we were visiting family, but it was quiet most nights. Our rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day -- no issues with housekeeping at all. The wifi worked fine.

All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. The breakfast is the standard Hampton Inn fare, served in a pleasant room. However, since we had had so many hotel "free" breakfasts during the past several weeks, at one point we elected to walk across the street to Perkins for pancakes. We understand from our relatives that the restaurant stays open quite late in the evenings and attracts an eclectic group of people, so you may not want to go there at night.

Since Rochester is the home of the Mayo Clinic, many people staying at the hotel have appointments at the clinic during the day. There is a shuttle from the hotel to the clinic, but you have to be sure you sign up ahead of time so there will be room for you.

We didn't use any of the facilities, such as the pool or fitness room. All in all, it was a pleasant stay and a more convenient location than where we normally stay when we're in Rochester, although it is not within walking distance of downtown. There is another restaurant next door, Whiskey Creek Wood Fire Grill, and a pizza place, but we didn't eat there. It's a quick trip by car to several malls and a Trader Joe's.

The guest service persons are just that. In particular, Lisa and Cliff do an exceptional job in making sure you are not only treated as guests, but more like "old friends"! I've spent over 50 years traveling for business and travel. This hotel is a gem of the Hampton Inn family!

Extremely friendly front desk staff, very helpful and accommodating, definitely catering to the guest's needs. The rooms were spotless, inviting the "weary" traveler to get a good night's sleep before charging into the next day. A definite thumbs-up!

We stayed here the last night before heading home from a western trip. Rochester is a good town to stay in, there are nice restaurants and the hotels are reasonably priced. This is a typical Hampton, decent value, decent room, nothing to write home about.

We stopped in for one night and didn't realize we didn't meet the age criteria. Everyone was over the age of 60 that we saw and our family of two kids and parents in their 40's stuck out like a sore thumb. The crowd at breakfast just stated when we entered the room...it was weird. On a more positive note the staff were very helpful and the room was adequate but a bit small for our family. The breakfast included the regular cold choices, along with waffles, omlettes, bacon and pancakes. One really nice touch was the pancakes were rolled with an apple stuffed inside - a nice surprise. We didn't like the one elevator as it was slow and would have the occasional weird bounce when it stopped or when you got on (and I know I'm not that big). Despite the downs we would stay there again.

Thank you for letting others know about your recent stay at our property. I'm glad to see that you enjoyed your breakfast during your stay. Being that our hotel is in Rochester, MN home of the Mayo Clinic we are filled frequently with patients that are here for medical reasons. We have guests that are Mayo Clinic patients that have been staying with us since our property opened back in 1994; so I guess you could say we have seasoned guests. Thank you for letting us know about your experience with the elevator; we will make a note for our elevator maintenance person to keep an eye on.

We hope to see you again the next time you visit Rochester. Thanks again!
