Great museum with so much to do you could spend the whole day there. Dinosaurs and fossils, science experiments, weather exhibits, a cell lab where you can learn about biology, Future Earth where you can learn about our planet, and so much more. In the summer they have an outdoor maze with exhibits and mini-golf. There are a couple places to eat in the museum and lots of restaurants nearby. The food in the cafeteria can be a little pricey depending on what you choose, but they had cheaper options as well. Good for all ages, my friend's small children (4 years old) loved it because of all the hands-on activities, and her older kids enjoyed the experiments and driving the virtual tugboat. If you go on Sunday, meter parking is free in downtown St. Paul. Check for discounts, if you belong to another science museum in another state you may get in for free if you bring your card.

“Outstanding”

The Science Museum is literally for any age group. I attended the Mayan exhibit this past summer and had a blast throughout. Same goes for the ancient Egypt exhibit from a couple years ago, the the Titanic one before that.

As you can see, counting on a fun time here is a no-brainer. Many (if not all, I'm not sure) exhibits include a screening at the in-house omnitheatre, which is like a near-360 degree movie theatre. I've always described this theatre as being as close to what's going on as possible.

The museum's year-round attraction is its vast set ups and displays of science, which from my experience is tailored to kids and teens, but is in fact useful to all age groups.

There are several restaurants and food stops here and there. They're fine for what they are, service is average and prices are OK. Employees don't seem too happy working the one on the ground level, though.

The design here is so very new and cutting edge that I feel like as long as it's kept clean (which is always is) this place will look brand new in 50 years. Giant dinosaurs constructed out of bones hang from the ceiling, too!

“Hands on experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 October 2013

We never miss a science museum when traveling with our grandsons. The MN Science Museum was very nice. Were not too sure at first but once we found the hands on physics section on the third floor the boys were engaged and happy. Took some time to watch the fire demonstration which was nicely done. I liked the gift shop which had something for all ages and tastes.
