“Expensive, small portions and horrible service”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Went to this place for a college graduation dinner. We waited 2 hours to get our food!! The menu was very expensive and when the entrée arrived, it was tiny! I ordered a spinach type salad and it came on small plate that didn't even look like a side salad. My husband ordered a burger and it was charcoal burned. We had a large group and everyone's order looked very small. The only positive about this place is they have a big outdoor area to enjoy the warm weather. I definitely would not go back to this place. Too expensive and slow service.

“Good Business Dinner”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

Great atmosphere, outside dining is a great place for a get together or business meeting. The shoulder steak was fantastic, highly recommend it.

“Pricey but lovely and you better make reservations”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

One of the best patios in downtown St. Paul with mature, lush trees and flowers, just beautiful. but you better call for reservations or expect to wait an hour or more, which can be easily done in the bar inside, outside or downstairs. And don't worry if it rains outside, they'll still take your reservation under tables with umbrellas, but not all tables have the umbrellas so you could get "bumped" for a bit.

They really take care in creating an experience for you and the atmosphere both inside and outside (and downstairs) is lively elegance.

Best for couples!

“wa frost”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

Very disappointed. Staff was rude when we arrived. Seating was in the patio in the back which was nice but the seats were terrible and dirty. Our server was very nice but was a little over worked with his area. The food was marginal at best and very expensive. Never going there again.

“A Little Bit of Europe in St. Paul”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

We love W.A. Frost! It reminds us of a European café--the ambience is wonderful, as is the food. W.A. Frost is a beautifully re-imagined restaurant housed in a former drug store, replete with original woodwork, marble counter and embossed tin ceilings on one side--and an elegant, old-world décor on the other. In the winter, it is warmed by a cheery fire place--in the summer, it boasts the most beautiful patio in town. This is the place we always take our big city out-of-town guests from New York and Chicago--and they are always impressed. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable--no phony-baloney snootiness--just excellent food and an overall delightful dining experience. As an added bonus, not only the building in which the restaurant is housed, but also the entire block, is comprised of lovingly restored, historic shops, homes and churches--so going there is like a trip back in time to old St. Paul.
