“Authentic Turkish Food”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

My sister and I spent a couple of years in Turkey when we were growing up, so when she found Black Sea Restaurant, we were both excited. Now, every time we are in the Twin Cities we stop here. The food is delicious! We always get the Doner and an order of hummus; it is the best hummus we have ever had! The menu has several option, but the Doner is our favorite. It is lamb and beef with some veggies that you assemble into pita halves. The cucumber/yogurt sauce is the perfect topping to the Doner. Also, make sure to order it with rice! There isn't much seating, so get there before the rush hits, however, the also do orders to go.

“Cheap, hip, crowded with good food”
Reviewed 5 August 2013

The place is a bit of a dump, but it's a college town. Just squeeze in, find a table and have the doners (chicken, beef, lamb or combo), They're good!

“Been going here for years”
Reviewed 21 June 2013

This is by far one of my favorite comfort food restaurants assuming you find Turkish food comforting.

Food is prepared quickly, served hot and inexpensively. Wheter you stay and enjoy theauthentic Turkish decorations or take the food home you wil nt be disappointed.

Try the #31 combo for 2., a little of everything and all good....

“Go for the Food, Not the Atmosphere”
Reviewed 28 April 2013

Billing itself the "first Turkish Restaurant in Minnesota", Black Sea is a Midwestern gem that's become a gem of the Twin Cities' food scene. Go with a group and sample to your heart's delight (but don't get a burger) to enjoy authentic Turkish food - real food. ALL the veggie and vegan dishes are delicious with some of the best Humus around. Students, families, anybody looking for great food at a great price wili savor the Black Sea. (Note: like many area non-booze serving places, tend to close on the early side so call re hours before making a special trip.)
