Arriving for a weekend away on a Friday Afternoon we rolled in and were greeted with friendly managers and an explanation of the renos taking place - NO Problems, love the communication. we stayed in the ensuite cabin, and although an older style accom, with a smaller size bathroom (WHO wants to stay inside when your away for the weekend at the beach) it was fresh and clean! lovely.
We ate home cooked meals, chatted with the locals and drank at the bar, the beach is the most relaxing place to walk and every corner on the beach has a new place to check out, even the mud flats were interesting. Fished off the beach and caught a whiting.
if you hope to relax and you don't want people at your feet, to fall over them, you will love this place! relax and take it in, one of the best weekends we will be back! service A1. Kids Loved it!

Room Tip: The Accom is being upgraded at present, expect clean and comfy.

Very basic facilities and although it's cheap still a bit overpriced for what you get.

If you like cold showers then this is the place for you. Although there are signs in the toilets saying to turn a few taps on to activate the hot water (ironically next to the sign asking you to conserve water) this convoluted process doesn't work. Just as you settle in under a warm shower it'll go cold....guaranteed every time

Don't bother booking a cabin that has it's own ensuite either. If you're older than 12 you won't be able to fit in it anyway.

And the noise is unbelievable! Being so close to the highway and train line is bad enough but when the management decide that having a bobcat doing work all day Saturday followed up by an early morning water delivery on Sunday and whipper snipping while trying to have a relaxing breakfast it really leaves a sour taste.

You'd think that maintenance would be scheduled during the week?

Lovely spot but a massive let-down with the facilities.

Room Tip: Cabins have the old window-rattler airconditioners so I'd avoid them. If you want some peace an...

Thank you for your feedback. As mentioned in previous responses, we are under new ownership and management and in the process of upgrading the facilities and quality of stay for guests. I am happy to say that this includes the refurbishment of the amenities (and hot water supply) and new cabins (with larger ensuites).

It is always difficult to schedule maintenance and grounds work – and unfortunately the weekend you stayed we had the opportunity for extra staff to assist us reach our goal quicker.

We are glad that you rated the location a 5 out of 5 –hence the reason why the new owner is investing in the upgrade of facilities. We hope that you return when our works are finalised and look forward to your review then.

The most relaxed place, awesome views, friendly staff, great bar, I have found on the East Coast of Queensland. Second time here and we will return again. The staff and management could not be better.

Room Tip: This is a Caravan Park with rooms. We stayed in our own van.

We have stayed at the park a few times. The amenities are basic but cleaned every day. The staff are very helpful. Looking forward to meeting the new owners and having a drink with them. Our last visit was with the Capricorn Caravan Club last February. We are hoping to visit again in February.

Room Tip: a good stopover between Rockhampton and Mackay.

When you've been travelling all day you just want to relax in comfort but the television is attached to the wall in a position where it can only be viewed around the dr table and the chairs are hard and straight backed .. So uncomfortable .. And the TV is taped to the stand so it can't be easily moved to a more suitable location. The only comfortable place is the bed but it's in a separate room and no access to the TV ... No sofa although a small two seater could fit .. After hours of travelling we are so disappointed .. I wish we had stayed at the Carmila Hotel. Their rooms look so welcoming ..

Thank you, we appreciate all feedback. As we are recently under new ownership and management, a refurbishment plan is in place based on priorities and works have started on various aspects of the park.

A renovation/refurbishment of these older style cabins is planned to start early next year. We have already replaced a majority of the mattresses in the cabins/rooms to ensure a good nights’ sleep. We will look into the TV situation immediately, although the current layout of some of our cabins limits the location options.

We hope that you visit again to enjoy this beautiful location – keep an eye on our website and facebook pages for when our new tourist cabins are ready 

Have been going to Clairview for many years. The new broom has swept clean, by increasing the price to top of the range caravan park prices and offering nothing at this point in time in return. We paid, from memory, about $39 a night, received dust from trucks all day long as they filled an adjoining area, noise, no water at the site for drinking, same old toilets and showers although they were clean, no pool, only a beach close. The Witsunday's charged less money, and had a pool, shops close by, beach across the road and new ensuites, The difference was staggering.

Thank you for your feedback. As per the previous responses, the park is under new ownership and management, and improvements have started with the amenities refurbishment starting this week. We apologise for the dust, but the adjoining property is now an exciting part of our park with more waterfront sites and rooms planned – and with the recent rains, the grass is now growing.

In regards to the price, the cost for a powered site here all year round is $30 (1 person) or $35 (2 people) – including our beachfront sites. The cost for a powered site in the Whitsundays however ranges between $33 and $89. Whilst we are making improvements to the park, our vision is not to turn into a resort style park with swimming pools, day spas and jumping pillows. The beauty of the park here is the natural surroundings and escaping the city distractions, providing guests with quality time together enjoying the beach, fishing, and natural environment.

This is a great location being about midway between Rockhampton and Townsville ... A big stretch with few places to stay.
The accommodation is VERY basic... And probably more suitable for a guys fishing trip.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I am certainly looking forward to the promised upgrade in the facilities! It certainly needs it!!

Thanks for your feedback. The renovations and upgrades have just started. A new insulated roof is currently being installed in the beach front bar. The tired amenities block will get a facelift. New cabins are planned to start shortly and then renovations of the existing cabins. Photos of all works will be posted on our facebook page. We look forward to welcoming you back next time - and trust that you will enjoy the new look.
