“Great stop for the Real Australia!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

The best thing about Barracrab Clairview is that it is just the right distance between Airlie Beach and Yeppoon for a stop, for those on a road-trip.

But even without this geographic convenience, it is a great place to overnight. Outwardly it is a rough-and-ready caravan park, but with lots of modern facilities - and in addition to that it has a great bar, dining room, and serves meals too.

It is set up for fishermen and crabbers seeking a great spot for a weekend or a month, but even if these are not your interests, it really is a slice of "The Real Australia". Most of all the on-sight managers are welcoming, very friendly, and cannot do enough for you.

The bar looks over the water, the beer is very cheap, and the locals are great to talk to.

We stayed in a Queen Bed studio - and even though it was very small, it was adequate. It was helped by having a large balcony, a nearby BBQ, and the bar-restaurant just down the track.

I can strongly recommend it for anyone on the road between Airlie Beach (or Mackay) and Yeppoon (or Rockhampton) - and especially for overseas travellers who would like to see a slice of a genuine Australian caravan park, with its bar, its interesting fishermen, and its tall stories! Recommended.

Room Tip: The new en suite cabins are fine, but you can book bigger older ones as well.

Me and my friend stayed at the Barracrab caravan park at the end of may. The place is great and and pricing is good.
The owners are friendly and helpful. Everything is very clean and beautiful. It’s possible to go kayaking at the ocean. When the water is clear you can even see turtles. For extra money it’s possible to order even dinner which is very tasty. I definitely recommend this place.

We camped for 4 nights at a non powered site. Everyone was extreamly friendly. The kids had a blast being able to have the space to run around. Had alot of fun on the beach and fushing. Service and amenities where very good. Will definitely be going there again......actually next weekend!

We stopped here late on Monday afternoon and the it was nearly booked out. We were in an old cabin that was great value for money. The negatives were it's single beds were vinyl covered which I find I sweat on and the microwave didn't work however the hot plate worked fine and overall it delivered more than expected. The communal facilities were excellent and so was the service

Arriving late, not feeling like setting up our tent we had the choice of different priced accomm eg. Queen or double bed, with or without ensuite ranging from $70 to $95 overnight. We chose e $95 option which gave us a brand new cabin with ensuite and kitchenette. We really appreciated a comfy bed after travelling for 12 hours and enjoyed the ocean view the next morning before heading off. The management was very obliging and gave us keys to inspect the different options of accomm which was appreciated. We would stay again if the opportunity arises. Thank you

Room Tip: The ensuite cabins are closer to the water and opposite the toilet block if required. The motel styl...

Just had a great weekend at the BarraCrab Caravan Park! We camped on a no powered site which was very grassy with plenty of shad and room to set up tents/gazebos. The shop itself has everything you need at a reasonable price including ice which was a life saver. We all had a ball fishing and crabbing on the beach which was quite successful and delicious with huge crabs! Will be coming back!

Room Tip: Newer cabins were nicer. Un-powered camp sites were much larger then the powered sites.
