Reviewed 16 September 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We stayed at Forest Field for two weeks arriving at the end of June 2015 and felt very much at home. On the one hand the area is very peaceful as the cottage is on a quiet tiny lane, on the other hand it is easy to get into the heart of the Lake District and to the coast as the cottage is close to Ulverston, Coniston and Windermere.
Mary and Mike are wonderful hosts and keep the cottage immaculately clean. The bedroom is perfect as it is spacious and guests can choose whether they like the beds made up as twins or as a double. In the bathroom guests have got a bath and a power shower, so everybody can be happy. The living room / kitchen area is compact but offers everything you need during your holiday. We also enjoyed the view of the garden from the window in the living room and liked sitting in different parts of the garden.
There are a lot of lovely and easy walks right from the cottage and Mary and Mike have provided a lot of Explorer maps and a folder with exact descriptions and maps of various walks from the cottage.

It was lovely to meet you both. We're so pleased you enjoyed your stay at the Cottage and that you managed to see quite a bit of this lovely part of the world. Would be great to see you again when you are next over here.

This was our second stay at Forest Field - we previously stayed in 2010. Mary and Mike again made us feel very welcome. The cottage is spotlessly clean and comfortable. On arrival we found milk in the fridge, and a loaf from the local baker, as well as coffee, tea, etc. and toiletries in the bathroom. Mike and Mary have a super garden, which they are happy for guests to wander in, and a lovely summerhouse to relax in. We will definitely stay again when we next visit the Lake District.

Stayed for 6 nights in Mid september and we would like to thank Mary & Mike for there hospitality and the lovely goodies left for us on our arrival.. The accommodation is absolutely perfect and could not be bettered it has a full bathroom with Bath and Shower and the cottage has full central heating. A Perfect Venue. We loved the baby pigs from the farm next door even though we had to close the gates on the road when driving past. There are numerous walks from the cottage in a beautiful country side Mary evens supplies full details of the walks so you don't get lost.
