We’ve just returned from a weeks stay at Well Barn Cottage. It’s a delightful cottage, adjacent to the owners’ home. It’s been converted from a barn and retains several original features such as the high, beamed ceilings, small-ish windows, and a very cosy feeling. The living room and bedroom are spacious, with lots of homely touches. There’s a good Wi-Fi connection and my Vodafone mobile worked well in most of the cottage (there was a tiny ‘dead spot’ in the living room, but that’s all). The galley kitchen is well equipped and had plenty of crockery. The kitchen has a small fridge/freezer, but in an out-building just a few paces away there is another fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer. There’s ample parking space and the location makes it handy for many of the beautiful Dales’ towns and villages. The owners, David and Hillary, could not have been more helpful. On arrival we were given several items of Hillary’s kitchen produce; chutney, jam, biscuits, cake, etc. All in all, a lovely, traditional, place to stay.
