The Chase on the Lake is a beautiful property, with an historic, cozy lodge atmosphere and modern conveniences. The fridge and microwave in each room were convenient. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I've heard all positive comments from several friends who have stayed there.

Room Tip: Higher floors had less noise from the bar.

Went up the weekend of November 4-5th for the Paranorma Investigation lecture. The hotel staff is kind, knowledgable and courteous. The rooms are all excellent. Very clean and up to date. The food in the 502 was beyond belief with quality and freshness. Overall I would place this as a 5 star hotel.

Room Tip: If possible see if lakeside rooms are available. The views of Leech Lake are magnificant!!

This is a beautiful reconstruction of an historic hotel. The redo was done with taste and care which is evident in the public spaces and in the rooms and suites. The restaurant faces the lake, but has limited outdoor seating, the bar is long and dark with no view of the lake. Food and service is where they hit and miss. We have been there for lunch or dinner at least ten times and service can be very good to abysmal. I put this on the management for failure to orient and train effectively. There can be long wait times, inappropriate comments and often menu items that are unavailable. Again a management failure. This could be a fantastic place. It needs a quality manager and staff.

We stayed in two bedroom suite and found it to be great for the six of us. We didn't use the kitchen a lot as we ate out, but it was nicely finished and well supplied. We ate one meal at the 502 bar and grille, the food was good but we were disappointed that there was no fish left for the "all you can eat walleye special." The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of foods and was well stocked while we were eating. All in all a good experience.

Had great service from making reservation, arriving, room, food, the whole works was great. The area was breathtakingly beautiful with the leaves changing in the day and the Northern lights at dark! Loved our stay.

Chase on the Lake provided everything you could possibly want in a weekend stay. Check in was quick and friendly. We booked a last minute stay in a two queen bed room above the bar area. At checkin I asked if they had anything else and they did have a king bed room on a different floor that they put us in at the same cost. The hotel is wonderful. The pool area is very clean and well maintained. The entrance to the Heartland bike trail is right by the parkin lat. We were able to bike to Park Rapids and back one day and then bike to Cass Lake and back the next day. We had dinner in the 501 and the food was excellent. The views from thwe dining room wer beautiful. We will definitely go back again.

The good, beautiful location, nice small town with lots to do. The breakfast brunch was well organized and quite good for a perk with the room. You do need to check ahead to make sure it is included in your room rate. The bad, front desk is a mixed bag, some clerks are very attentive, while others are rather poor. The rooms are not very soundproof, therefore you will be entertained by the band in the lounge whether you wish to be or not. After 11:00 it got rather annoying as we had a rather long day. The ugly, room care or lack of it. Talked to the management three times about getting clean towels and waste baskets emptied to no avail. Finally took the dirty towels personally to the front desk and left them, demanded clean ones which I was given without any comment. The room was ok, but not up to quality standards as far as cleanliness was concerned. Commented on this at checkout and was given a rate reduction which was nice, but It didn't change the situation nor change my opinion of the room service at this hotel.

Room Tip: Try lakeside and third floor.
