Our room was directly above the restaurant and bar. Could hear the band playing all night. Seems that lots of drunk partiers liked our hallway too because they were standing out there talking and woohooing all night. Needless to say, I slept very little. The rooms are nowhere near soundproof. Worse than a motel 8. The whole weekend was ruined for me due to being so tired. Then to top off our weekend, we tried to use a coupon for a free beer at the resort's 502 restaurant. It said to order a small plate to get a free beer. Well, we ordered the large plate figuring they would still honor the coupon since the food we ordered was three times the cost of the small plate. Nope, they wouldn't take the coupon. My $22 chicken was not even good. was really dissapointed with this resort. I wouldn't mind coming back to Walker, but I would never stay here again, nor could I recommend it to anyone.

We have a lake house but wanted to try something different so we booked a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo with a lake view. It was fantasic!!!! The condo is very modern, clean & roomy. I have nothing negative to say. Its an unique, historical building. Its nice to get up & go to breakfast and have maid service come in. They clean, make beds, replace towels & even start the dishwasher. Its a beautiful place to stay & they have so much to offer, restaurant, spa, bowling alley & pool. Our daughter, her husband & one year old stayed with us & it was never crowded.
And if you want to shop you only have to walk a block or 2 to the downtown. And best yet there is a casino a few miles east of town. So check it out. I can hardly wait to go back.

Room Tip: Try a condo with a lake view, its beautiful. Get one with balcony, they have table & chairs. A...

We took a quick Spring Break trip up to Itasca and points north, and decided to take advantage of the April price specials and stay at Chase on the Lake. My wife and I are always on the look out for "family sized" rooms, and in the case of Chase, the two bedroom, two bathroom condos did not disappoint.

The main room had a full kitchen, including stove, refrigerator, and microwave, and was furnished with plates, cups, silverware, etc. There was a nice snack bar seating area, a table and chairs, and then a couch and chair around a fireplace and TV. Our room was a lake view, so it also had a small balcony without furniture (it was April, so furniture may be coming shortly).

Each bedroom and bathroom was nicely appointed. The main king room had a comfortable bed and a chaise that my daughter slept on. The other room had a queen bed that was plenty comfortable for my 8 and 10 year old sons.

We enjoyed the pool area, which really had three bodies of water. There was the main pool, which was comfortably heated, a spa whirlpool, which was quite warm, and a plunge pool - run out of the sauna and into the plunge pool - it was very cold.

The 502 restaurant was also nice. The food was good and the service was quick. I understand it gets extremely busy in the summer, but it was empty for us.

Room Tip: We choose a two bedroom, two bath lakeview condo for our family of 5.

My husband and I spent 3 nights at The Chase. We had a great experience overall. Our room was clean and large (king suite), the place was quiet and there was a lot to do despite the fact the it was between seasons. We ate two meals at the 502 restaurant and had decent food, nothing great but very good service. Our room came with free breakfast which was unexpected and quite nice. Our only complaint:the whirlpool was luke warm and the lighting in the room made reading difficult. We would go back, for sure.

Room Tip: Top floor was really quiet although it was during the week so it should have been anyway. I did wis...

We booked a weekend at Chase for our last trip away before we had a baby. We had stayed there in the past and were very much looking forward to it. I was 36 weeks pregnant at the time of our stay. Upon arrival, it was sunny and nice so we decided to take a quick walk. We walked out the front door, and I slipped on an ice patch that was immediately in front of the entrance. There was no salt down, no signs, and the hotel maintenance person even stated that they knew this was a problem spot due to the roof overhang (it had snowed earlier in the day and then melted/froze). I took a very hard fall, and being 36 weeks pregnant was advised to go to the hospital. We had to drive 45 mins to Park Rapids, and spent our entire first evening there.

The front desk staff was very friendly, and very concerned over the situation. They checked in the rest of the weekend to make sure I was OK. Upon checkout, we requested a discount on our first night stay (as we were not able to enjoy the hotel at all that night), and the front desk person indicated that management would contact us. We spent $600+ on the weekend stay, and really only got to enjoy one day (and I was in pain from the fall the whole time).

Once we returned home, we were never contacted by management, and we had to contact them several times before even hearing back. When we finally did talk to them, they did not even acknowledge the request for a discount or apologize for the situation - they instead rudely referred us to their insurance company. We are not the type who would threaten legal action, we only asked for common courtesy of a small discount and an acknowledgement of their mistake (and hopefully that they fix the roof issue in front of the entrance so others are not injured as well).

Overall, we are very disappointed we were not treated with the respect that any customer should receive, and don't plan on returning.

Stayed at the Chase on The Lake over Eel Pout weekend which we have done in the past. Room rate for double bed was 300.00/night!!!

While we expected noise throughout the weekend we did not expect to have a room located DIRECTLY above the bar with a band!! Future advise to anyone......do not stay in rooms 1201, 1202 or 1203 if there is a band scheduled during your stay!! You will hear boom boom boom for 4 hours straight!! The hotel staff should have advised us of this at time of check in!!! Poor on their part.

Location of the hotel is nice for walking around downtown.

Room Tip: look at the layout of the hotel prior to accepting your assigned room.
