We stayed for one night on Sunday 10-7-12 - going to attend the Robert Irvine Live Show.

Check-in: Front desk staff was very short and not at all friendly. The lady had a very unproffesional outfit on. Not pleasant, nor informative. Basically "sign here - here's the key". This was the first encounter with an employee, however it was the attitude of nearly everyone we met.

Room: Clean, hideous carpet and decor. Beds had a blanket that was more like a floor rug. View of a swamp, not that they had much choice considering it's either that or the highway. Bathroom was small, but clean and efficient. This was the first time I had seen a Sharps Container on a counter - kind of gross and I am not sure how this is necessary being as I have never seen one at a hotel before.

Pool: did not use. Seemed like a big enough area. However, the hot tub looked really gross and dirty.

Employees: I met only three (out of maybe 30) friendly staff members. Here is how they were:

Rude / not helpful: front desk, cash counter, bar tender, waitress, rewards points counter, floor stadff.

Helpful and friendly: One male housekeeper, one rewards points counter clerk, and one breakfast waitress.

I would not recommend staying here, however if you must be in the area sadly this is one of maybe 3 choices. I would choose the other two.

"Standard" room is just that. Panders to gamblers who intend to spend less time in the room. 2 pillows/queen, no conditioner or iron/board nor mini-fridge/micro. Buffet was economical and tasty. Breakfast upstairs at the Dancing Fire Restaurant was very good. Was made even better with waitress Darla's sunny personality. Good check-in/out and had motorcycle parking.
You don't have to be a gambler to stay here; Walker, MN is down the street and has many shops and some lounges/restaurants/beaches all nearby. Casino has big shows regularly.

Room Tip: Ask for a back room overlooking the marsh. Really pretty.

My son gave us a casino package that was lost until this week. It expires 4/5/12, I called to try and get a room this weekend using the gift certificate and was told there were no extensions and that they were 100% booked. The reason they gave for not extending the gift certificate? They wouldn't get paid for the certificate if there is an expiration date. He bought it as an auction item so obviously it was donated and he paid a certain amount for it. Very disappointing that the only answer they could give besides that is, "nope, sorry".

We stayed in a jacuzzi suite. The room was clean. Average size with the jacuzzi jammed in the corner by the bed. This room did not have a microwave or fridge which would have been nice. Our friends stayed in a 2 room suite. It was also nice. The fireplace didn't work but they got a discount for that problem. Would return.

The area is wonderful! The casino is great. The rooms are good. The food is terrible. Staying here is a good option for those looking to explore the Leech Lake area but go into town for grub because the food at the buffet was inedible. The rooms are spacious and clean and the staff is friendly just don't expect this to be at the same level as some other bigger casino resorts.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the pool if you don't want to awake to kids playing at 7am.

Had a nice stay in this hotel. Room was pretty average. Basic but modern. Not high end, but worth what you pay. Room was clean, no complaints really. Friendly staff, but not very efficient at the front desk. Had a good breakfast at the restrauant for about $7.

Room Tip: you get a deal and coupons when you check in with your member card for the casino.

Resort is located in very nice area in Minnesota on lake. Rooms are modern and clean and the Buffet in resort is ABOVE average with excellent selections. Staff is friendly and curteous and Casino is good size and excellent payouts. I walked away a winner! :)
