A must place to visit for a traditional English Afternoon Tea in Bedfordshire or even for breakfast and lunch.
There are two rooms available each have there own atmosphere within cosy surroundings as well as outdoor seating. The tea rooms have recently opened following extensive renovation of the station. It also houses tourist information and has a railway heritage centre. You can see the original station ticket office, signalling equipment, posters and photos dating 1964 and earlier.
Ample free parking is available. Very close to J13 of the M1, short drive from Woburn and Centre Parcs and of course you can arrive here by the hourly train service from Bedford or Bletchley.
Wonderful service and atmosphere and reasonable prices. Where can you get a pot of tea served in a china cup and tea pot for just £2?
Loads of homemade cakes, fresh sandwiches made to order, Panini's, soup with fresh rolls and lots more. It's very true what other reviewers have said of this place.
My first visit to here unfortunately was after the tea rooms had closed for the day but you could see that the place was attractive to warrant a second visit! You will not be disappointed.
Pauline (the proprietor I understand) makes you feel most welcome. I will definitely be back again!
Hours of opening are 9am until 4pm daily except Monday when the tea rooms are closed.
Telephone number is hard to find on the web so here it is - 01525 287120.
