So me and my partner Jill have been touring the southwest surfing for a few weeks and decided to randomly book a random site. We booked up and we're well pleased that we did.

The site was full but we got a sneaky cancellation and got booked up for 3 nights.

First off the staff are awesome, really friendly and went beyond to help.

The site is outstanding and your first greeted by the most amazing thatched cottage at the entrance to the site with beautiful palm style trees and plants.

The site has amazing size pitches, good red brick road and gravel road.

The shop is a small nice beach style shop that does surf hire and stocks most stuff and is cheap. It had a nice porch to sit and chill at.

The Toilets and showers are huge and very clean and always been cleaned.

It's ideal for surfing and their is some awesome surf shops close by, it's not far from a local Aldi supermarket and wise ideal for BBQ food.

You can leave by the back of the park and across the field is the towans or sand dunes which is home to loads of wild life and the dunes are vast but on the edge of cliffs so air with caution. When you leave the gate to cross the road on the right side is a small sand path that heads to a disused life guard station and that side of the beach us for dogs.

The locals use an old set of steps at the hut to get down to the beach but it is sketchy, they have collapsed and had a land slide so if you use them you risk your life.

Their is an awesome Victorian Ale House over from the pub selling the best local ale and cider. It gets super busy on an evening and that because the food epic on epic proportions. I recommend the Bob Marley burger and a pint of Healeys cider.. It's good...

The locals we're awesome and really friendly and all around amazing site.

This site is a tad more upscale than most and the caliber of people are nice people with good manors and its not like other sites where kids run wild. I think all kids are really tired after all the surfing and walking which makes for a pleasant experience.

Highly recommended..

We are by no means regular campers, but we stayed here in May with friends and found all we could want here. The location is fantastic, being near several outstanding beaches; the facilities were clean with plentiful hot water; the pitches afforded privacy; and the Red River Inn opposite served us excellent food (twice - book ahead) at reasonable prices with a good selection of beers. Our two children enjoyed the communal grass area. We took advantage of the baker's visit but didn't use the clearly very popular chippy, curry and pizza vans. No complaints at all. Well, just the weather....

We had an amazing week at Gwithian Farm and agreed it was the best campsite we have ever camped at. The facilities were great, lovely friendly staff, fantastic location and the best pitches ever - very private with planted shrubs used as screening, lots of space so didn't feel hemmed in by neighbouring tents. The on site visits by the fish and chip guy, pizza van and baked goods 3 mornings a week were most appreciated as it meant we didn't have to cook or go out a couple of times and could continue to chill out.
Lovely walk through the dunes to the beach and the onsite rentals of boogie boards and wetsuits meant we could all try our baby surfing skills for the first time.
The only thing I could suggest as an improvement would be the single, ineffective handryer in the ladies loos/shower block - could really do with a couple more that dry your hands properly.
Apart from that, pretty much faultless, would recommend highly to anyone looking for a site in Cornwall.

Just returned from this amazing campsite and cannot rate it highly enough. The staff and management were helpful and friendly and the main facilities all extensive, clean and well run. We had a pitch in the top field with a number of other families with chidren and it was perfect to be able to sit with a glass of wine and watch the kids playing football, riding bikes, generally doing what kids should be doing on a camping trip but all in a well laid out, safe environment.

The pitches themselves are large, level, well drained and seperated by colourful flower and shrub borders to give you a feeling of having your own space despite the size of the site.

The bathroom facilities are really excellent, always clean and hygenic and plentiful enough that I dodn't have to queue for the hot showers, loos or washing up facilities once and the site was clearly at a high occupancy level

Regular evening visits from different catering vans broke up the campsite barbecues when required with a choice of fish and chips, pizza, curry and in the mornings fresh croissants.

The beaches nearby are among the best in the country, if not Europe! We had a dog with us so had to jump in the car for 5 minutes to access the summer accessible dog friendly ones but this was no trouble at all.

All in all, a trip to treasure and we will be booking for next year straight away.

Lovely site, brilliant position, great facilities from guinea pigs to laundry. helpful staff who dealt with my inability to count and book the correct number of nights very well. Also tried gamely (although unsuccessfully) to jump start my defender. Thank you for a lovely stay. One happy teenager and mum! Only one minor issue and it may be a cornwall issue rather than campsite, but wifi is not great. If you needed to rely on it for work you would be in difficulty.

This campsite is set in a small village a few miles from Hayle & St. Ives. The campsite is well set out with wonderfully clean toilet block. There is a small shop which sells the basics, but as Lidl's and Marks & Spencers are a short car ride away it's not a problem. We try and stay at this campsite once a year in the summer holidays. Last year we enjoyed the local food vans that brought fresh fish one night, curry another and a wonderful fish & chip van. Lots of good old fashioned family fun. Had no problems with noisy neighbours after hours - BLISS.

The kids love the fact that the middle of the campsite is a big grassy area that they can all play in - making up their own games. The beach is not too far away - walkable if you don't mind a walk back up hill.

There's nothing fancy about the campsite but is beautiful, well kept and just the right amount of facilities for us and our family.

What an excellent weekend. Really friendly team - we were late to leave site this morning and the people using our pitch after us arrived before we were ready to pack down. The owners were very helpful, didn't rush us out and managed to get the people who we were holding up to go for a beach walk so we could have a bit longer to pack, turning what could have been a little stressful into no bother at all. Thanks guys. Great facilities, easy walk to the beach, feeling jealous of our friends who are still there for the rest of the week :(
